Missing piece from the NJ trade...
...And that's Yi Jianlian.
Mully have always wanted him to come to the Bay Area 'cuz obviously of the Chinese population here. And, with an atmosphere for Yi to be surrounded by, who knows how much confidence and potential the kid will be with all the Asians.
He's a quick big PF who can create a lot of mismatches because of his athleticism and quickness, has decent post-skills (but can utilize it more efficiently if relies/settles for less jumpers), and has a pretty good jump shot (needs to improve his 3-pt shooting % though). Only concern, as with the majority of the warriors, is playing defense, needs to get stronger, and he's a mediocre (if not, below average) rebounder for his size. But again, with the right and comfortable environment, he'll strive.
So, this is what I would have traded for (along with Marcus Williams):
Al Harrington + CJ Watson + Marco Belinelli + Kosta Perovic + 1st round draft pick (conditional) FOR Marcus Williams + Yi Jianlian + Chris Douglas-Roberts + Stromile Swift or Sean Williams

repetitive with AR-4 and wright here. we dont need more skinny big men who have decent outside jumpers.
i would of passed if this was the proposed trade.

I would do anything it takes to get Yi here...he's on my all upside team along with Brook Lopez, Brandan Wright, Guillermo Diaz, and Joe Alexander...my eye for talent is impeccible, my style is incredulous, all praise be to allah...

How is it that Yi belongs in the B. Wright and AR4 category? He's practically 25-30 pounds heavier than them...
And both B. Wright and AR4 aren't known for their jumpers at all (especially B. Wright).

Yi has no mongrel. He looks lost on the court at the best of times in this league. Just not tough enough to be a big in the NBA. However, he'd make us a stack of money. So trade for him, stick him at the end of the bench, grant him all garbage time so he makes us a fortune and from then on luxury tax is of no concequence. I should be running the Dubs.

Don't forget the large gay population in the Bay Area. I say we pull out all the stops to sign Brian Boitano.

Is Yi left handed? If not, then forget him.

I heard John Amaechi is open to making a return to the NBA as well.
Return to Golden State Warriors
