All-Time Warriors

Post#1 » by BillyHoyle » Wed Aug 6, 2008 5:11 pm

if you could select an All-Time Warriors starting 5, (don't focus only on numbers but on "team-chemistry" as well), how would it look like?

Wilt Chamberlain,Nate Thurmond,Rick Barry,Bernard King,Baron Davis.

Bench--Chris Mullin, Tim Hardaway,Andris Biedrins,Phil Smith,Mitch Richmond,Monta Ellis,Purvis Short,Chris Webber.

Barry would play SG in this lineup. Some might debate Hardaway vs Baron but they had similar assets and similar flaws. I didn't put Webber in the starting 5,or Arenas on the team, because I'm not giving big credits for what a player did before or after his time here.

Sorry, Baron's jankety injured run before Hardaway's consistency in RunTMC?

Too much dope.

Hardaway may have missed some time before he left town but, let's face it, Baron's Warrior tenure does not measure up. Not even close.

Run TMC had the best Warrior chemistry of any team I saw.
Wilt and Thurmund provide the interior Defense.
I picked Thurmund over Webber because someone has to be the role player.
6th man Rick Barry who would take every shot for the reserves.

Don Nelson would be my coach.

Wrong.

Web gets cut for destroying the franchsie, and Timbug gets benched for being a malignant homophobe.

C-Dre/Nate
PF-Bernard/Cliff/Larry
F-Mullin/Purvis
G-Barry/Mitch/Phil
G-Sleepy mother f :censored: 'in Floyd bitches!/Tim

Randolph and Monta make the team, but get D leagued.
Manute takes Thunder's job as the Mascot.

Nate Thurmond was the most dominating center we ever had. I am not going to count Wilt, even though he played here for 2 years. Rick Barry as the best small forward. Phil Smith as the best SG, Tim Hardaway as the PG. I would make Chris Webber my PF.

Hardaway was a lot like Baron. He missed time injured, could play great but also chucked us out of games. In context both were high grade talent though a bit unpredictable, both had a problem with trying to do too much....which looks great when it works.

It's crazy to leave Wilt off any all-time anything list. Something like 40 pt/20 reb and ??? shotblocks?

Thurmond was also a regular 20 rbd guy and a super defender.

The only F ever to match Barry as a pure shooter and great passer was Bird.

I do want a spot for Manute  He may not be a great player but is a legend all the same.
CENSORED... No comment.

uh huh " too much dope" .....you made a list of guys who got way better after LEAVING.
Webber and Parrish were only here as rookies. Wilt and Barry were here in their prime and earned themselves Hall Of Fame status.
