When Ravens safety Dawan Landry crumpled to the ground in the final minute of the first half in Sunday’s 28-10 victory over the Cleveland Browns, a hush was sent through M&T Bank Stadium.

But, according to Kevin Byrne, the Ravens’ senior vice president of public and community relations, initial reports indicate that Landry did not suffer any serious injury.

“We’re thankful for Dawan [Landry’s] situation, and he looks good,” said head coach John Harbaugh in his post-game press conference.

Landry’s helmet was hit by Cleveland running back Jamal Lewis’ knee on a routine play before halftime. The three-year veteran laid on the ground for nearly 10 minutes as medical crews from both teams attended to Landry.

He was strapped to a stretcher and placed on a cart to be transported to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where the safety was kept overnight.

Dr. Leigh Ann Curl, the team’s chief orthopedic surgeon, told Byrne that Landry had feeling in his extremities and never lost consciousness.

A CT scan (computed tomography) revealed that Landry’s condition was normal.
