With each day the NFL Draft nears closer and with the Bills taking a big step to playoff contenders last season this year's annual Draft will be that more important.

There has been a lot of overturn with this year's club. Veterans like Takeo Spikes, London Fletcher, Willis McGahee and Nate Clements have left via FA or have been traded.

J.P. Losman, Lee Evans, Angelo Crowell, Aaron Schobel will have to fill those leadership roles if the Bills want to reach the playoffs for the first time since the Music City Miracle.

As of now the Bills own the 12th, 43rd, 74th, 92nd, 111th, 184th, 222nd, 239th picks in this year's draft.

Will Marv Levy sit on his hands or do you expect him to move into the 1st again like he did with John McCargo last year.

The Bills could shore up a lot of positions but if I would have to guess I'd imagine, RB, LB and CB will be at the top of the list.

I think if Patrick Willis falls into your laps he is the obvious pick. If not him then you have to replace the loss of Clements with Leon Hall. RB's are a dime a dozen and Pittman will be there in the second or maybe even third.

Not going to happen. Two reasons: (1) We have enough DTs and (2) I keep hearing how lazy he is.

Did you forget about Greg Olsen (TE)? Just like with Bowe (WR) we'd have to trade back into the 1st Round, yet you list Bowe? Certainly he'd be a better fit for Buffalo than Miller. Miller is too slow to be a vertical threat in the passing game. We have a good blocking slow TE, why would we want another one?

I'm not a big fan of Greg Olsen. He looked good in the 40's but I think Miller is going to be a better NFL player. Zach Miller

I added Dwayne Bowe because the Bills have shown interest in him during Senior Bowl week. His stock is also all over the place. It's possible that he could drop into the 2nd round.

There's no telling what Marv Levy is thinking at times. But if I'd have to guess we're probably going LB at 12.

I doubt the Bills go TE on the first day, Robert Royal surprised me last year, he may not be a vertical TE but he is a good blocker and catch. For the draft I think the Bills will skip on Pereson/Lynch and take a RB in the 3rd. If the Bills do draft a CB(on day 1), do you think whoever is drafted will successfully beat out Youboty or McGee? I have a hunch Levy will take an O-lineman day one...

I disagree with just about everything you said (and for good reason). I'll list 'em:

(1) The Bills will definitely think about a TE in the third round, especially if Miller or Patrick are available. In the 1st (not without trading down) and the 2nd (not unless Olson was somehow available there) it is unlikely.

(2) There is no way in hell the Bills would skip on Peterson if he was available in Round 1. In Round 2 the Bills would likely take Pittman or Leonard if they were available (assuming the Bills got Willis or another LB with their 1st pick). But I do agree that there are some viable options in the third round (Henry, Booker, etc.)

(3) The Bills may take a CB in day 1 (not the first round though), but I think they wont. Youboty received a 1st Round grade last year and would have been the 1st or 2nd CB if he had come out this year instead of leaving early last year.

(4) I see no way the Levy takes an O-lineman in the 1st day. Our O-linemen are currently Peters, Dockery, Whittle, Butler, Pennington, Walker, Merz, Fowler, and Preston. At least 7 of those guys are capable of holding down a starting spot. There is absolutely no need for an O-lineman. In fact it is a team strength at this point.

Levy showed last year that he drafts by need and by players that can step in a contribute. There is no reason why this year should be different. Assuming Turner does not become a Bill, look for Round 1 and 2 to be an LB and a RB. The two 3rd Round picks will likely be WR, FB, or CBs. Round 4 I'd look for either the best player available or a QB like Jordan Palmer to groom.

like the knicks in that regard in that they do not do major style
changes in team gear. awww.

With Marv Levy re-signing Jabari Greer and Kiawaukee Thomas does he hold off drafting a CB on Day 1?

Terrence McGee is a #2 CB but with Clements in San Fransisco he's going to be thrusted in that #1 CB spot. Ashton Youboty has the potential to be a #1 CB but I don't think he'll beat out McGee as of yet.

One of my favorite prospects in the draft is Tanard Jackson out of Syracuse. He doesn't have blazing speed but he's a great fit in our Cover 2 scheme.

He's pretty physical and competitive and is very good at stopping the run. The only knock is some character issues but I'm sure Levy and the brass will do thier due dillegence.
