Game # 16 Carolina at New Orleans

Post#1 » by ohara » Sun Dec 30, 2012 5:52 pm

Last game of the season. Do you think we need a win to keep our Head Coach employed? Not too sure. I think winning 4 or the last 5 may be enough to keep Rivera on for another year. Really want to see Cam step up big today and finish off the season the right way on a positive note.

Panthers start out quick to a 10 - 0 lead. Cam throws a pick 6. New Orleans leads 17 -13 in the 3rd. New Orleans is moving into the red zone.

Panthers up 34 - 24 with 10 minutes to play. Tolbert has 3 rushing TD's today. Cam hurt his ankle but missed only a couple of plays.

Now 41 - 24. DeAngelo with a TD run and has 191 years and 2 TD's. This comes after Armanti Edwards finally does something good and has a 69 yard punt return. Should have been for a TD, but he allowed the PUNTER to catch him. The PUNTER did not really have the angle either, but just seemed to have more speed. That totally sucks for Edwards. He will never live that one down.

Just like that, it is 44 - 38. Just under 3 minutes to play. Panthers have to play to win. If they try to run out the clock and give the ball back to the Saints, the Saints will win this game. If they do, then Rivera should go. If we win, he stays.

Panthers will 44 - 38. Williams with 210 yards rushing. Huge day for him! Finish the year at 7 - 9, having won 5 or last 6 games. Rivera will have another year now.

Hate that the Panthers waited till the end of the season once again to start winning. Its pretty evident that DeAngelo is comfortable being the lead back, and I'm sure Stewart would also have the same success if he was getting majority of the carries. One of them will get traded in the offseason.

Also I think Ron Rivera might have just saved his job with this little hot streak.

Love seeing this. Talentwise we're 9-7, 10-6. Of course, talentwise the Bears are worldbeaters... but it'll be good to see this young team build confidence going into next season. I like a lo of the pieces and the rest should come.
