panthers vs bears

Post#1 » by fatlever » Sun Sep 14, 2008 1:44 pm

who would have thought this would be a battle of two unbeaten teams?

panthers have a long history of winning a big game on the road and then crapping their pants the next week at home. lets hope that isnt the case this week.

once again, the key to winning this game will be to control the line of scrimmage. run and stop the run. get pressure on kyle and make him force the ball. contain the return game of the bears.

i'd love to see moose have a monster game. i'm sure chris harris will be pumped as well.

Harris might just be the best player on our defense. He's one nasty dude and Moose did play well.

After that first half I was PO'd. Mostly cause I have and extreme hate for the Bears and the thought of losing to them was getting at me. Good thing we stopped shooting ourselves in the foot as much in the second half. Great start for us this year and it feels great to have Jake back!

Great win! Solid 2nd half to overtake a determined Bears team. I think we saw why we drafted Stewart. Williams ran OK, but it was Stewart who defined the 2nd half with bruising running. He is special and that duo together will be great for us this year. And when Jake got pumped after taking that possibly late hit on his slide, that helped turn the offense around also. And I agree that Harris and his strip of the Chicago TE really started us on Defense in the 2nd half.

I'm thrilled that we're 2-0. It's looking like it'll be a good year. I get TV on Tuesday, so I'll actually be able to comment on games after that - hooray.

As a Bears fan, I feel the need to mention that we lost this game ourselves, through penalties, fumbles, bad play calling and Kyle's inability to execute a pass of more than 5 yards. However, congratulations on the win. It would have been a great game... and a little better if we had won. Oh yeah, can we please have Chris Harris back too?

So true. I mean if we didn't false start our way to 3 points in the first half. Decide not to miss a block on a punt, lose the football for an interception when it was in our hands and hold when we had a touchdown this could have been a blowout. ;) We screwed ourselves.

See how easy that is. Point being, you guys played well the first half and we did in the second. The team that made the plays when it mattered won the game.

And nah...you aren't getting Mr. Harris back. You may keep your 5th round pick. :D

I'm right there with you fats. If i get a new jersey this year it'll definitely be a Harris one.

I agree completely with what you said. The team that made the plays when it mattered most won the game, and that was the Panthers. All I am saying though is that we dominated the first half, and the game was ours to take in the second. The fact that we DIDN'T win it is because of our own mistakes more than anything, in my opinion.

As for Harris, I guess you guys can keep him. He was one of my favorite Bears and I'm still p*ssed that we traded him. However, we have Brown, Manning, Payne and McGowan covering safety, so I guess we wont miss him that much.

Next Big Thing:

I appreciate your point of view, and you show a great deal of class. Nothing like some of the people trolling. I believe your Bears will make a hard run at Green Bay in the NFC North. Best of luck. Hope we meet you again in the Playoffs.

Thanks ohara. Good luck to you guys for the rest of the season. You have some nice players and if we meet again in the Playoffs, I'm sure it will be a great game.
