Atlanta at Carolina

Post#1 » by ohara » Sun Sep 28, 2008 1:34 pm

This will be a very important game for the Panthers. We just had a meltdown last week after Jake lost the fumble for a TD at the end of the 1st half. We have to get back on track today vs Atlanta. We have a young inexperienced Rookie (although very promising) coming in and we have to get to Ryan and knock him down. Peppers better get on track this game, or he will never see the $$ he wants, and we may not even bother to resign him if he wants a mega deal. The entire team needs a solid effort and this should be a very convincing win. Anything less will be a disappointment. My call is a Carolina win 34 - 17.

its too early to start talking about "must win" games, but man, this is close. losing to atlanta at home, after what we saw last week would be a nightmare.

we need to get some pressure on ryan. enough with the vanilla pass rush. blitz. i get so freaking sick of year after year watching our defense just rush the 4 DL and noboby else. and oh yeah, shut down that running game. i think smith will be happy to play atlanta w/out having to deal with hall.

Good victory, but I wonder at what cost. Losing Otah and Gross is very bad. Hopefully they will both be OK. From what I've learned so far, Gross has a concussion and the severity will be the factor in how long he is out. Hopefully only a game. Otah's was an ankle, which is a whole lot better than a knee. He may miss next week. Hopefully they both heal up with missing only a game at the most.

On the brighter side, solid Defense today. And Jake was getting his hook up with Moose back, which helps Smith. Cannot complain too much with he offense, but for some penalties.

Update:

Gross seems to be alert and well with his concussion. Unknown if he can go next week vs KC. Otah has only a sprained ankle and could have returned today if needed. That is good. He will likely be good for the KC game.

Glad to hear. Thankfully, KC shouldn't be a huge challenge. Of course, now that I've said that...
