Favorite win of the 2007 season?

Post#1 » by CBS7 » Tue Jul 15, 2008 4:25 am

I know it was a disappointing season but the Bears gave us some good, exciting games. What was your favorite win of the season?

Week 2 vs KC 20-10 - Nothing really noteworthy about this game, except for the exciting Hester of course, who won us the game. Grossman struggled massively, and it was the first win of the year.Highlights

Week 5 @ GB 27-20 - After everyone thought our season was over, we go and beat the undefeated Farve's Packers on the road in an exciting come from behind victory. Griese shines in his first victory as a starting Bears QB as the defense picks off Favre twice and forces 3 fumbles.Highlights

Week 7 @ PHI 19-16 - The comeback, Griese is brilliant. Bears get the ball, down 4, with 1:43 to go inside their own five, and Griese goes down the field and throws a TD pass to Muhammad with :09 left. Great finish to the game, another supposed turning point that "kept us alive" in the playoff race.Highlights

Week 10 @ OAK 17-6 - Grossman's return. Griese goes down with an injury before the half, as Grossman fumbles a couple of consecutive snaps before the half was over. But then throws a 60 yard game winning TD to Berrian. Defense shines in this contest... but... its the Raiders.Highlights

Week 12 vs DEN 37-34 - Most exciting game of the season for the Bears, and definitely a candidate for best game of the year, period. Hester's 2 TDs, big play after big play from both teams, Grossman throwing a game tying TD, and Gould winning the game on a FG in overtime.Highlights

Week 16 vs GB 35-7 - Another very fun game to watch, as the Bears' 3rd starting QB of the season in Orton gets his first win. Bears get it done on defense and forced Favre to a crappy game in his last(?) game vs the Bears (150 yards, 0 TD, 2 INT). One of those picks was returned for a TD by Urlacher. The Packers struggling to get anything done, including punting, in the snow was fun to watch. Our season did suck, but sweeping the Packers is always nice.Highlights

Week 17 vs NO 33-25 - A fun, high scoring game featuring a punt return TD by Hester, a 55 yard TD reception from Orton, and a trick play where Adrian Peterson threw a TD pass to Berrian. Orton plays relatively well, throwing for 190 yards, 2 TDs, and one pick. Also the only 2 game winning streak for the Bears.Highlights

My vote goes to the Denver game with both GB games as a close second and third.

By far the Denver win for me although the win at Green Bay and Philly were great as well.

I have videos of 2 of the games:

Looking back, the Bears did play some pretty fun games last season, but even beating the Packers twice can't top that Denver game. That game had everything.

Hands down it was that Denver Win! I mean, Devin just put us in the prime position to take that game, 3 returns for TDs. And Berrian with a catch I didn't think he was capable of making.
Oh and don't forget Peanut's punt block! That was clutch! Peanut has become my fav. defensive player on the Bears after such a bad 2007.

Overall, we got some really lucky wins, I hope we didn't use it all up for 2008. I loved the fact we beat GB twice!

Thanks for the links to the highlights, I had almost forgotten how crazy that Denver win was. It will be painful to see Berrian making plays like that in purple next year.

Even with that I'll take Green Bay in week 5. They were undefeated and pretty big favorites. Any win over the Packers trumps anything besides playoff wins.
