Monk cut - anyone notice ?

Post#1 » by Chewie » Wed Aug 27, 2008 5:22 am

Anyone notice 7th round pick Marcus Monk was cut Sunday? With his height (6'6") and speed combo at WR I know a lot of us on draft day were really hoping he would stick. And you can forget about the practice squad as the Giants have already picked him up.

After watching that pathetic drop from Hanie in preaseason game #1 I knew it was going to be an uphill battle for him to make the squad. He didn't even look that fast to me out there, just incredible height.

I've read in several places that he wasn't as fast as they expected him to be.

Monk makes that spectacular TD catch, he's got the job. Too bad it was Kellen Davis.

Cliff Levingston thought he was a surefire practice squad guy when we drafted him. Oh well.

Well if no one picked him up then he'd probably be on the practice squad. Don't players need to go through waivers first?

The Giants noticed. They claimed him off waivers.
