I was pissed at the Bears almost all game long for blowing an opportunity like they had. Horrendous line play most of the night; no running offense, no pass rush. I don't know if they need to widen the splits on offense or what but the running lanes and passing lanes always seem small. It was tough to watch 'til the end.
Although it's always a happier week after the Bears win, they'll surely lose at Houston if they don't play any better than last night.
TGibson (1/28/17); "..."a 4 or 5 on a scale of 1 to 10 for drama"...What's the worst? "...yelling matches with Thibs, everybody is just going crazy and I'm just sitting there...like, 'Don't call my name please..."

Chewie wrote:This season has been such a circus. I went into it thinking Orton would be his usual game manager self and then was on his bandwagon firmly after some great games. After his recent performances I'm left wondering if we should be on the lookout once again for a starting caliber QB or if we just need to get a stud WR to see if that helps the situation.

Sadly, we probably still need a QB. Again. Unless someone can tell me Orton's still affected by that ankle.

You know Chewie its hard to tell because after awhile the scouting report catches up to you so you have to show something new and the Bears who already were limited dont have anything new to show .

Jim Miller on the post game on comcast had some pretty good insight into the offensive woes .he said the packers caught the Bears off guard by moving Woodson who had been at safety the past 3 weeks back to CB last night and that the packers corners proceeded to lock every Bear receiver up by jamming them at the line . That took away anything on the outside for the Bears and basically created a triangle in the middle of the field . The bears never even attempted to take advantage of it in the playcalling until they went two TE spread and Forte,Olsen,Clark started to make plays within those areas .

The first INT was a bad read the second INT came the very next play after Booker dropped a surefire first down pass. He has no confidence in the receiving corps right now and is hesitant because the ball either has to be perfect to them or it doesnt get caught or is dropped.

After the TD to Olsen the Bears on the next two possessions Forte was not even in the game .They played Peterson who by the way everyone keeps reminding us is a huge part of the Bears offense. He didnt catch his first pass until the 4th quarter.

This game was crazy. The coaching staff ,players , and execution was all over the place. They need to have a stellar offseason on the offensive side of the ball thats for sure.

One of my neighbors who is a offensive coordinator for a hs team and played some QB in college was telling me that the wideouts ineptitude has Ortons confidence shot .He said that Jaws comments about Ortons tunnel vision was spot on but that he missed the regression of the bears receivers since the start of the season as well. He said Orton at the start of the season was looking off defenders and just letting it fly and the receivers were making plays on the ball regardless of where it was it was at.Now the drop and the poor route running and essentially Orton is now trying to guide every pass to its target and you cant do that be successful.

At this point Im just hoping someone shows up next week and play like they want the ball.

You could have said the same thing of Grossman unfortunately. For awhile he was awesome, then the scouting report caught up with him and he had nothing new to show.

We'll see though, Orton had a nice season (much like Grossman 2006) and he didn't fall as sharply which I suppose is cause for hope. I think if the Bears could upgrade at the QB position that they should do it, but I'm not sure there will be a clear upgrade either, so I think we'll probably stick with Orton for at least one more season. I'm not sure I'd want to sign him to the big money long term deal right now though.

Definitely need help at WR and DL though.

You must be out of your cotton picking mind if you think you guys will beat us in our house.

I'm not sure I understand that reference but the Texans just lost to the mighty Oakland Raiders.

Wow..Do you know anything about football?
The Raiders are tough at the black hole, and we are tough in our house. So good luck this Sunday. You will need it.

Record dont mean nothing. Oakland is a very hard place to play in. Even Chester Pitts said it.

That's called "trying to establish a reason for a terrible loss"

I dont know Doug with Grossman it was a self confidence thing but with Orton it seems hes lost faith in his receiving corps and is starting to look to his TE's and Rb's and when the play does call for a Wideout he cant look off the defender because he doesnt rust them to be where they are supposed to and then if they are they too often drop the ball. I watch the Bears weekly interviews on CSN and when I listen to Lloyds and Davis's interviews they sound like guys who just dont care and havent earned their positions . We really need some playmakers on the outside at least one .

The other thing is Turner and his game planning.

We know going in that the Bears offense has looked its best in the hurry up and we also know that the packers love to jam at the line but we wasted the first three possessions of the game trying to be conventional when its never worked for us this year. We never send anyone in motion even against teams that Jam and that just bad just shows how bad our coaches and receivers are . We also struggle when we dont diversify Forte's touches because when we move him around in our two TE hurry up our offense is at its best. We didnt see that in the first half at all. We saw conventional conservative football and we suck at it.

Hopefully we can strengthen one area enough where we can scratch it off the "needs fixing" list lol and then evaluate the other ones.

I won't believe him until Ahman Green tells me.

In other news Greg Jennings said this would be a tough game and Kyle Orton said he practiced hard.

I'm pretty sure I heard Rex Grossman saying he will have multiple super bowl rings once.

and something like, single digit interceptions.

At least one part of it's true!
