OK, I did this with a buddy a few years back for the Bulls during the free agency period so I thought this would translate over to the Bears.
Rules: Pick 10 free agents you think the Bears may get. Rank them 10 to 1 with 10 being the one you're most confident they'll get and 1 being the one you're least confident. For each FA on your list the Bears actually sign, you get that point value. Use the 2009 free agent list off the WalterFootball site only http://www.walterfootball.com/freeagents.php as I found the scout.com site was missing some names. You CAN include Bears free agents on your list.
Prize: Bragging rights and the knowledge that all ReamGM Bears forum posters willl forever see you as a god.
Chewie's picks :
10 - John St. Clair, OT (Bears)
9 - Chris Simms, QB (Titans)
8 - Byron Leftwich, QB (Steelers)
7 - Mike Brown, S (Bears)
6- Shaun McDonald, WR (Lions)
5 - Lamont Jordan, RB (Patriots)
4 - Devery Henderson, WR (Saints)
3 - Bryant Johnson, WR (49ers)
2 - Nate Washington, WR (Steelers)
1 - Julius Peppers, DE (Panthers)
You can see how optimistic I am we'll actually land a stud. I'd pick Jeff Garcia but I'm assuming Angelo wouldn't want a guy that would actually beat out Orton.
Free agency period begins on 2/27.

Wow, Julius Peppers #1? Cliff Levingston wouldn't mind doing that then taking a WR in the 1st round.
Cliff Levingston would partake but he's not intimate enough with the free agent pool.

Re: Bears Free Agency Confidence Pool
Peppers #1 means that out of the 10 listed he is the LEAST likely from the way I take it.. if St. Clair signs he gets 10 points and the most points wins the confidence pool, correct?

Yep. I'm most confident the Bears will sign St. Clair and least confident in Peppers of those 10 on my list. If Peppers signs I get 1 point, St. Clair signing means 10 pts.
Dang it - I saw two replies and assumed some partners decided to play along.
So lonely.

Re: Bears Free Agency Confidence Pool
All right I'm just bored enough at work to do this...
10. Chris Simms
9. Mike Furry
8. Justin McCarins
7. John St Clair
6. Leftwich
5. Tank Johnson
4. Nate Washington
3. Jordan Gross
2. Brian Dawkins
1. Albert Haynesworth
Left Peppers off because I believe he will be franchised. And the thought of Haynesworth and Tommie Harris next to each other just makes me warm and fuzzy inside.

I really don't think this would happen, almost threw him in there just to spark some conversation. I personally would love to see him come back. He's stayed out of trouble, could be had for a reasonable price, and had great friends and support from his teammates on the Bears D. I think Urlacher loves the guy.
Could really improve the interior of the line, Tommie, Tank, Adams, Harrison, would be a pretty tough DT rotation. Not to mention Dvoracek if he could ever make it through a year.

Jamaica? I'm profoundly jealous. Mission accomplished !
I like the picks with the exception of #7 and you clearly ripped off my Lamont Jordan pick as I just picked that out of my @ss ! I was looking at Y Bell but I thought I read he was a strong safety so I didn't put him down.

Re: Bears Free Agency Confidence Pool
Of course I ripped off your Lamont Jordan pick. If its a game, I should rip off your picks to nullify your points!
I haven't got a clue who he is! You are losing with Mike Brown. JA already is quoted saying he won't be back
I'm rolling my dice that JA is happy how Moose worked out for him before. Loves Hester's development and wants another Moose as a possession receiver for the short term and will go with T.J to get it while he develops a young long term answer there.
I also think he will cut Tait and go for a big splash for a OT (just like he did with Tait before).
This exercise has actually made me pretty confident that the Bears will be contenders next year. They have the cap room to sign a very solid OT and solidify the O-Line for years to come (especially if they use a 3rd rounder on a Guard).
That and a back up RB, a starting Safety, a possession receiver are all possible in FA with almost $30 million to spend. Then get a DE or DT stud in the 1st round and best availables after that and we are seriously good.
IF Kyle can get the time I'm sure he will be a solid top 10-12 QB in the league.

Let's see......
St. Clair still has a shot, I don't know WHY we haven't called Simms.
Carey's signed, Bryant just signed with the Lions, Y Bell signed, Gross signed.
Housh isn't coming here.
It sounds like Wolfe will be given first shot at backing up Forte but I suppose Jordan and T Bell are fair game if he doesn't show himself worthy in mini camp.
I think Phillips is your best shot at any points if we don't nab Sharper first....
