LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Bears on Wednesday released veteran guard Terrence Metcalf.
The 6-4, 310-pounder appeared in 84 games with 25 starts in seven seasons with the Bears after arriving in 2002 as a third-round draft pick from Mississippi.
Metcalf appeared in the first six games last season before receiving a four-game suspension from the NFL for violating the league’s policy on anabolic steroids and related substances. He was reinstated Nov. 24, but did not play in the Bears’ final five games.
Metcalf’s best season came in 2005 when he started 13 games at right guard for a Bears team that went 11-5 and won the first of back-to-back NFC North Division titles.
They're going crazy up at Halas Hall. Release the Hounds! I'm looking forward to the draft. Does this mean we take an OG day 1 or just an OT? I'm guessing we take an OT day one and an OG day 2
