Walking through drills, punting balls instead of handing them to ball boys, and batting down passes that he should be catching. McDaniels has his hands full.

Re: Still Want Brandon Marshall ?
yes, yes I do.
Hes trying to clown and bitch his way out of Denver or into a long term deal imejetly. Interesting how the prospect of Orton passing him the ball scares the living daylights out of him, but thats for another thread perhaps.
Its stupid the way hes acting, Hes damaging his reputation when he ought to be enhancing it, but then again, the Broncos owner showed that when Cutler did it, the owner caved. This may be a bit of revisionism since they were looking into trading Cutler even before Cutler went on his rampage. But still, Marshall was watching very intently. This is all an orchestrated campaign, albeit stupid. I doubt its because he inherently has bad football character. IMO, He'd be a good enough temate on the Bears reunited with his QB. Too bad the Bears have nothing much they can offer other than Hester and future picks. Unless you want to offer Urlacher too or something.

I NEVER understood that argument. So he makes more then "normal" people, doesn't mean he can't be underpaid or he has to like his boss or he has to want to work. Look, his actions are indefensible. There is nothing acceptable about acting like that. But to say he doesn't deserve to be paid market value in his field because he is paid more then the average American is wrong.

So if he signs a new contract and under plays do they get to pout until he signs a new lower contract. He signed the contract if he's still doing well when it's over he'll be rewarded.

For those of you saying.
He's a headcase.
Read this story, and see if you don't change your mind.
That's just a snip.

Seriously. He's acting like a clown in that video, but the Broncos are rapidly becoming a disaster. McDaniels won't last at all. This is what he gets for coming in and flexing his muscles without earning the respect of his players. Chased a Top 10 QB out of town, and pretty soon is going to chase a Top 10 WR out of town
He's a headcase.
Read this story, and see if you don't change your mind.
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) -- Brandon Marshall has no problem working with the scout team while he plays his way back into Pro Bowl form.
What bugs him is the way the Denver Broncos handled his acquittal on misdemeanor battery charges last week.
Marshall said Wednesday in his first public comments about the matter that he was miffed a member of the team's public relations staff told his teammates not to gloat over his acquittal in an Atlanta courtroom on Friday.
Marshall was told the staffer was acting on his own in an attempt to be sensitive, but he believes the directive came from higher in the organization and he suggested the episode fostered distrust between him and the Broncos.
There's a hazard this latest imbroglio could lead to an irreparable rift between the team and its superstar receiver who already is unhappy that the Broncos haven't reworked his contract or traded him.
"Unfortunately, I think it gets to that point," Marshall said. "There are trust issues on both sides. It's understandable. We've got to try our best to move forward."
Trust issues were at the root of the offseason quarterback predicament in Denver that ended with Pro Bowl passer Jay Cutler getting traded after rookie coach Josh McDaniels considered acquiring former pupil Matt Cassel.
Cassel ended up in Kansas City, Cutler was sent to Chicago and Kyle Orton came to Denver.
Marshall, set to make $2.2 million this season, had hoped the verdict in his trial would give him leverage for a new contract, and his agent, Kennard McGuire, met with McDaniels on Monday. Both men have declined to say whether McGuire asked again for a big raise or, barring that, a trade, and Marshall also sidestepped the question.
"From Day One, I never asked the Broncos for more money, and that's from the summertime. The biggest thing was I really disappointed that ... on one of the best days for the past three years of my life, some of my teammates were (told), 'Don't say you're happy for Brandon,"' Marshall said.
That's just a snip.

this is just from 08/09
How do you blame the coach for this guys history ? This predates and is the reason why the Broncos are reluctant to pay him ? With that list the Bears wouldnt pay him either . Marshalls situation has nothing with the coach .

Jan. 18, 2008: Watley obtained a temporary protective order against Marshall in Fulton County (Ga.) Superior Court. At the time, Marshall was forbidden to come within 200 yards of Watley. Watley, through her attorneys, eventually agreed to lift the court order.
Feb. 18, 2008: Watley told "Outside the Lines" that as part of a Valentine's Day present, and in an attempt to repair their relationship, Marshall surprised her with a last-minute trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico. While on that trip, Watley said, Marshall argued with her about an ex-boyfriend. Watley said Marshall assaulted her at San Juan's Condado Plaza Hotel, hitting her in the mouth, which caused her to bleed, and choking her on the bed. A report was filed by police saying officers were called to the hotel to help hotel security escort guests from the property. The report does not mention Watley, Marshall or any details of the incident.
March 4, 2008: Police responded around 9 p.m. to a fight call at Marshall and Watley's Atlanta condo and found Marshall bleeding from his hand. Marshall initially told police that during an argument with Watley, one of Watley's sisters cut him on his hand with a knife. When asked by police who had the knife, Marshall then told officers there was no knife, and that he'd been cut on glass during a fight with Watley. Watley told police that Marshall became upset after finding text messages from an ex-boyfriend on Watley's phone. Watley had several cuts on her lips, according to a police report, and told officers that Marshall had grabbed her by the head and slapped her. While police were interviewing Watley, Marshall fled, according to a report of the incident.
March 5, 2008: Police returned to Marshall and Watley's condo around 1 a.m. Watley and her sister both told police that after the fight earlier that same evening, Marshall returned to the condo, took Watley's purse and threw her personal belongings, including clothing, off of the 20th floor balcony. Police told Watley to leave the residence, but she declined and explained that she feared Marshall would return again once officers left and damage more of her property.
March 5, 2008: Watley obtained her second temporary protective order against Marshall in Fulton County Superior Court. Marshall was once again forbidden by the court order to come within 200 yards of Watley.
May 5, 2008: Atlanta police were called once again to the condo Watley shared for more than a year with Marshall. According to a police report, Watley and Marshall's mother argued about Watley's attempt to remove items from the condo. No charges were filed.
Aug. 5, 2008: The NFL released a statement announcing that Marshall would be suspended without pay for the Broncos' first three regular-season games of 2008 for violating the NFL personal conduct policy. The statement noted that "if Marshall fully complies with required counseling and other conditions of the suspension, Commissioner Goodell will consider reducing the suspension to two games."
Aug. 28, 2008: Less than a month after the NFL released a statement announcing Marshall's suspension, the league released another statement saying Marshall's suspension had been reduced upon appeal to one game without pay plus an additional fine of one game check. An NFL spokesman told ESPN "a potential reduction in [Marshall's] initial three-game suspension was always contemplated if he complied with required counseling and other conditions of the suspension." The spokesman would not elaborate on the precise conditions Marshall met to have his suspension reduced.
Sept. 10, 2008: Marshall was charged with two misdemeanor counts of simple battery as a result of the incident the previous March (his formal bond arraignment was Nov. 3, 2008). Simple battery, according to the Fulton County District Attorney's office, is punishable by up to one year in jail and/or a $1,000 fine.
Sept. 12, 2008: Nearly a year after being cited for DUI in Denver, Marshall pleaded guilty to the lesser offense of driving while ability-impaired. He was sentenced to one year of probation.
Feb. 5, 2009: While attending a dinner party in Honolulu as part of his Pro Bowl appearance, Marshall proposed to Michi Nogami-Campbell. Marshall told the Denver Post he met Nogami-Campbell while the two attended the University of Central Florida. The engagement prompted several sports writers to praise what they characterized as Marshall's maturity.
March 1, 2009: Marshall and his fiancée, Nogami-Campbell, were seen by an off-duty Atlanta police officer arguing outside the same Atlanta condo Marshall once shared with Watley. According to a police report of the incident, the off-duty officer saw Marshall and Nogami-Campbell kicking and punching one another on the sidewalk outside the condo building. The off-duty officer said she saw Marshall grab Nogami-Campbell by the shirt and pin her up against the wall. Nogami-Campbell continued to kick and hit Marshall, the officer said. Both Marshall and Nogami-Campbell were arrested and taken to the Atlanta City Jail. They were released later that same day and charges were dismissed. In a statement to ESPN, the NFL said the incident remains "under review."

Re: Still Want Brandon Marshall ?
You are right about the off-the-field concerns.
I should have specified as much, because even Cutler agrees that people know about Marshall's situation off-the-field, but in the end do you expect Marshall to be happy when he's months ago, even before it reached this point, he asked Bowlen the teams owner to trade him because it was clear he wasn't going to be paid, Bowlen said he would, and here he is month's later suspended.
What if his production drops? Honestly I expect a drop-off, because who we are kidding? Kyle Orton is not Jay Cutler. What do they expect? Similar production, with an obviously inferior QB throwing him the ball? How are you going to try and short change him by telling him that he can do as well with Kyle Orton? It's an obvious attempt to low-ball him when he's a free agent after his production dips.
He wants his money now, so that regardless of what happens, the inevitable failure of the 09-10 Broncos won't effect him being paid off of his prior two seasons.
Maybe he should just shutup and play, but if I was in his position I'd also be worried. (Dumb) New coach, new offensive & defensive sets, new QB. It's not looking good in Denver. Denver doesn't even have a high 1st, and the Bears with the easiest strength of schedule in the NFL should be good enough to not give Denver a 1st round pick high enough to be relevant.
But what more can the Broncos do? They are not getting a 1st round pick for him that they want, especially because of his antics and Off-the-field concerns. Why not pay him since in any case despite what he's done this offseason has HAS been their top offensive weapon for two years running. When they CAN get a QB that isn't just a placeholder he'll be able to turn his production back up to what it was.
That's why he's not a headcase to me(At least on the field). He may not necessarily be going about it the right way, but I don't think his general idea is off.
