Anyone notice some of the Bears players laughing and joking on the sidelines while getting whooped??

But this team is SOOO poorly built it is crazy. How many guys would you keep if you were starting a new team tomorrow, a dozen? Tops? Give Detroit or Chicago's roster, I take theirs. This team's future is B A D, has no way to improve without FA and they have an inept coach (Lovie) who has gotten by with elite play out of elite playmakers. Like someone said, the Cover 2, is a great system in theory. Except, the reason it worked for Tampa was they had three Hall of Famers, one at each level (Sapp, Brooks, Lynch) and excellent coaches running the system. The Cover 2 didn't work because of the system, the players made it work.
If five (four who still coach) coaches who won super bowls this past 15 years are jobless, then I think the Bears could part with Lovie. Get an offensive mind in here to coach it and get a defensive guy who knows what the hell he is doing. Because Lovie relied on great players to win games, now without them, he can't.
Hmmm.....
Afalava
Briggs
Cutler
Forte
Gilbert
Gould
Harrison
Hester
Knox
Olsen
Tillman
C Williams
Wow - a dozen exactly. And a few of those are purely based on unrealized potential.

Bears coach Lovie Smith said defensive tackle Tommie Harris is fine, physically, and that the decision to sit him against the Bengals had to do with rest.
Smith expects Harris to be ready to go against the Browns this week.
"No, there isn't anything wrong with Tommie,'' Smith said. "Tommie didn't play this week. It was more of a coach's decision as much as anything.
"He has had some (knee) soreness. He didn't practice all week. I thought we had better options. All player decisions on who's going to dress is a game-day decision: who gives us the best opportunity to win. Could Tommie have played if I wanted him to? Yes. But I thought we could get a better Tommie if we let him rest this past week and get ready for this week.'

Well this could turn into a fun little soap opera the rest of the season.

on the plus side, I am glad i stuck around to watch Gaines Adams a little. I saw him blow up a couple running plays when the Bears stopped Benson cold. He held his ground and then some at the point of attack. Seems like he can play the run. And yeah, fresh legs and all. Don't know if he played against a quality blocker either.

At that point the game was o-vah. I imagine it's easier to play the run when you know a run is coming. Then again, tell that to the rest of the Bears. Will be interesting to see Adams get some meaningful time in the coming weeks.
Hard to believe our last sack was the one that took Stafford out.

Wow!
That was a longtime ago.
A plea for post scoring is a plausible Bulls plan, but plainly isn't a priority. In response to a post player's dismay about his lack of points in the paint, Paxson said.... "I'm not nearly as concerned about the offensive stuff as he is."
