Serves him right. For one, if your boss tells you to dress a certain way, you do it. Refusing to is insubordination.
Beyond that, as a salesman, that's just stupid. Anyone with half a brain would know that Bears fans are going to be sensitive about the loss, so a customer coming onto the lot and seeing that would basically be like the salesman flicking the customer off. If Cliff Levingston owned a business, he wouldn't want his sales force or customer service staff flicking off potential customers either.

No sympathies for this idiot. He knew what he was doing when he put the tie on that morning. It's like the jerk who wore the Heat James jersey to the Cleveland Indians game. A day after the NFC Championship game is not the right time to wear your GBP tie.
IMO, this douche got what he deserved.

It's easy to go "WTF THAT'S STUPID" but if you think about it, the guy is a car salesman in Chicago. Not exactly the best idea to wear a Packers tie and try to sell cars the day after a game like that. And if my boss tells me to remove a tie, I'm doing it. He didn't, he deserves it. Just my opinion.

Each working place has it's dress code and everyone has to follow it. Would I like to wear jeans and a white t shirt to work yes but I can't because they refuse to let me. Just imagine a Bulls player refusing to wear his Bulls jersey what do you think would happen to him?? The same thing that happened to this salesman, get the boot.
