I feel better about our backup RB situation than our backup QB situation.

Little hope left for this season.
Turn down for what?

All of the teams in the wild card hunt lost today, so the Bears are still in a playoff spot. But after what we saw today, who on Earth would want to see THIS team in the postseason?

Let's say Forte is good in 2 weeks... does he even attempt to get back on the field anyway? I think he will be strongly advised by his agent to call it a season.

Cutler may return before the playoffs...there still is some hope.

He also may not.

Forte may return before the playoffs. He also may not.

A truly stable platform to work off of, IMO. At this point, why drag out the inevitable slaughter in the first round? When healthy, this team could have beaten anyone. When not, they can't beat the Chiefs at home.

Look, I'm already set for Bucks basketball.

Also a valid point.

For what it's worth, here are a bunch of tweets:

vxmcclure23 vaughn mcclure
Smith said he doesn't believe the contract situation will come into play with Forte at all.

ZachZaidman Zach Zaidman
Lovie Smith on Matt Forte: "He can't wait to get back on the football field."

skjensen Sean Jensen
Asked if he expects Matt Forte back, "Yes, I do. MCL sprain, going into the fourth quarter of the season, he should be in pretty good shape"

mikecwright Michael C. Wright
Lovie said he expects Forte to come back this season.

Lovie looks at every football situation as being a glass half-full. "Rex is our quarterback....Rex is our quarterback....Rex is our quarterback"....etc.

I hear you, WEFFPIM. Just remember though that anything can happen in the playoffs. Just like injuries to major guys are biting us right now, they can bite other teams also. It can happen to them before the end of the regular season or during the first play from scrimmage in a playoff game.

I'm not giving up until we are officially done.
