Bears need to lose.

Post#1 » by Sinistar6 » Tue Dec 6, 2011 7:59 pm

Not wining it with Cutler and Forte hurt, and thats what you play the games for. Time to look at the Big Picture, get a better draft pick and make some moves for a WR with upside. If we lose every game from here we could get a top 15 pick.

Blackmon
Jeffery
Floyd
Wright

The only game I want to win is the Packers game if they have not lost yet.
Next time the cult's spaceship lands we'll all be wearing black Starburys.

No they don't. We have the 5th spot locked down right now with 4 games to go. Win 3 and we get in and who knows what can happen. Not to mention both Cutler and Forte COULD be back for the playoffs.

Sadly, I don't think Hanie has what it takes to win so most likely we won't get in anyways.

With this current makeup, not sure they even need to try to lose.

There's no sense in losing when :

1) We have a GM like Angelo who will screw up the pick whether it's in the top or bottom half.
2) Cutler still has a shot to return if we back into the playoffs
Turn down for what?

Cliff Levingston agrees with this. If we lose out, we're 7-9, putting us around the middle of the pack as far as draft position goes. It might give us a shot outright at Alshon Jefferey, a really nice shot at Michael Floyd and get us closer to possibly trading up for Justin Blackmon.

If we end up right around where we are, we won't have a super bowl to show for it and our best receiving option in the first might be Nick Toon.

Nick Toon doesn't deserve to be a 1st round pick IMO

More than any sport I think football players and coaches disagree with this logic. As fans it's easy to feel like you should lose to 'get a guy' - but outside of a cant miss QB, I don't think it's worth it even if you could get them to do it. Look at Philly. With all the talent they brought in and the fall flat on their faces.

I really don't think it Matt's if the Bears finish in the middle of the pack or near the bottom. They aren't going to pick the WR we want. I just think they won't/don't go WR in the 1st round. I'd rather see them try to win while 1) giving heavy carries to Bell, 2) Sicking with Caleb to KNOW if we consider bringing him back, 3) starting Wooten at DE and 4) starting Corey Graham at CB.

Blackmon will be gone by the 15th pick. The WR group for this draft is strong. I think a guy like Nick Toon should still be available middle first round. He was predicted as a 3rd round talent before the season began, and now he's all the way up to 1st. He's had injury issues though, but that hasn't stopped the Bears in the past, now has it?

Bears should go after V-Jax in the offseason.

Wooten is a non-factor at this point. He's played sporadically past few games, and seems to have little or no impact. They're even more comfortable with Chauncey Davis at this point, and that is telling.

Don't know why you would put Graham at CB. Our corners are fine, Tim Jennings, aside from getting beat on that long pass in the Raiders game, has been playing extremely solid all year. Tillman has been solid too. The defense can hold it's own, but if the offense isn't moving the ball much, it won't matter. This isn't the same defense from 05 or 06, they can't win games by themselves. Even with ST help, we need to score at least some points on offense.

I think if you want this team to be in the best position to win a Super Bowl, winning this year may not be the best route to go.

Winning with this offense will be a challenge. As of today we are outside of the playoffs looking in. Without Culter we can count on losing to GB for sure. SEA and MIN are up in the air. 8-8 is looking like a real possibility. smh

Our playoffs hopes are out the window now. With Hanie leading this team we are near worst in the NFL on offense. While I won't openly root for them to lose, my vested interest in them winning has fizzled after these last 2 weeks of crushing defeats.
