Raiders interviewing Tice

Post#1 » by Chewie » Wed Jan 18, 2012 3:19 am

WTF? We may lose our new OC already...

The general manager job the Bears are working to fill might not be the only prominent position the organization needs to address for the coming season.

It’s now possible recently promoted offensive coordinator Mike Tice could be headed elsewhere.

According to a club and NFL sources, the Raiders have requested permission to interview Tice for their head coaching position. In accordance with NFL rules, the Bears must grant permission, unlike the move they made Monday when they blocked secondary coach Jon Hoke from interviewing with the Vikings for their defensive coordinator position. Tice did not reply to messages from the Tribune.

WTF. They need a GM to start preparing for the draft and an OC to distinguish what the hell type of offense we're running ASAP.

I really doubt if the Raiders hire Mike Tice. They have requested to interview so many people I think he's a longshot. It would be funny if we lost him wouldn't it?

This would be so very fitting for this train wreck of a team.

Big trouble if Tice rolls, for as long as we continue to have lack luster talent on the O/L, he is a hell of an offensive line coach. Like crazy elite good IMO.

Tice is staying put.
MOBILE, Ala. -- The Chicago Bears assuaged concerns about the potential departure of offensive coordinator Mike Tice on Monday with an announcement that the coach is no longer in the running for the Oakland Raiders head coaching job.

"I would've loved to go through the process," Tice told ESPNChicago.com on Monday night.

Scheduled to interview with the Raiders on Tuesday at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., Tice received a phone call Sunday night -- according to a league source -- from his agent Jimmy Sexton with news that Oakland decided to move into the second-interview phase of the process, and didn't want to wait until Tuesday to interview the coach.

Well, thanks for that.

It's good news for us. I'm surprised the Bucs don't give Tice a call. Nobody seems to want to join that sinking ship.

Rice might feel bad now, but he should be happy. He's now in line to be the Bear's next head coach.
