Phil Emery said S Brandon Hardin will be at SS meaning he will compete with Major Wright for potential starting job.

Interesting. He's played CB and certainly has speed for FS. Ideally he'd be flexible to play either. Wright can flex between the two spots, which is good. Just gotta be concerned about injuries. Steltz is strictly a SS and its best if he spends most his time on Special Teams.

The safety positions in this defense are pretty much interchangeable. As long as he can cover and stay healthy, he'll have a home here.

Huh? Shea McClellin played at a top 10 football program and was productive as hell. Alshon Jeffrey dominated in the SEC. Hardin is a great talent who has injury issues - the reason for his drop.

How do you get more established than Alshon Jeffrey?

Well they shouldn't need a safety, but really they can use one. Can't say they can't use any of the positions they drafted, so have to wait and see and hopefully they turn out.

Major Wright, besides injuries, was kind of a mixed bag right?

Actually kind of stoked, especially about Hardin, I hope he's healthy as Phil said.

Cutler - no more Martz, Kreutz gone last year, adding two new receivers, Merry Christmas Jay!

Quarterback really isn't a need with Jason Campbell and Josh McCown backing up Cutler. If we were going to go quarterback, I'd take a chance of Kellen Moore or Chandler Harnish.

I just went through a bunch of Alshon Jeffrey youtubes. This is the most talented offensive player the Bears have drafted in a long time. The way he adjusts to the ball is phenomenal in the true sense of the word. If he gets himself into that kind of shape like he was early on, and Forte shows up, the Bears passing offense will be ridiculous if Cutler gets any time to throw at all. I think his speed is deceptive like Forte's if he is in top shape.

I have seen the "separation" youtube as well. He was really porked out in those negative highlights and it was discouraging. His issues gaining separation at the snap when he is so heavy sometimes occured in these lowlights when he tried to juke his way free of the defender at the line of scrimmage instead of physically attacking through the defender. In his bloated condition no way can he get away with that juking stuff. Its not a good idea even if he was in shape. Nor can he sharply break well enough or accelerate to get the guy off him down field. Hopefully that gets coached out of him as well as keeping the weight off.

Solid picks. The Bears are going for size in this draft. Nice big reciever and safety. I'm loving what the Bears are doing.

I just feel that Shea could have been there if we traded down in the first & added more picks for us. Hardin has been injured for three straight seasons & missed the whole 2011 season. He may be a great talent, but so was Mike Brown.

I admitted to all of you weeks ago that rating college players was not my strength, so I relied heavily on the info that was provided by you guys in multiple threads on this board. I didn't see any of you guys high on these two guys at the spots that the Bears drafted them. Most of the names that this board threw out there weeks ago were still available when the Bears were on the clock in the 1st & 3rd rounds.

I know. I meant in our RealGM SuperBowl game we're playing. My backups are Charlie Whitehurst Nathan Enderle and I need a talented qb to develop as my backup for the future. Foles would have been perfect because of his great arm strength and solid accuracy and reads.

Absolutely love the Jeffrey pick. Unsure about the Hardin pick.
