Garza had a bad game with the 2 false starts but I think Carimi has been the worst O-Lineman so far this year. He's been just awful. I know he's still basically a rookie but still it's disappointing how bad he's playing.

Yeah, you're right. Both Garza and Carimi have been worse over-all than Webb. Though the recovery from the injury he sustained last year has really hindered him. I think that is why I am more worried about Garza because I think Carimi will eventually bounce back. I think with Garza, you see what you get.

The dynamic of the game forced the play calling to be ultra conservative. Not to mention, those three red zone turnovers forced the Bears with crappy field position. Had the Lions scored before 30 seconds left in the game, I have very little doubt that we would have seen another nice drive out of the Bears.

The offense played poorly and didn't capitalize on the chances that they had, but in the second half they had very little reason to open it up and really "go for it" based on how well the defense had been playing.

I don't really care how well our offense plays if we win. As Susan said, the Bears really just needed to control the ball in this game and not commit a silly turnover and they had this game in the bag with the way the defense was playing. I have full confidence that if our defense does have an off-game, our offense will be there to back it up.

Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler and coach Lovie Smith didn't have a problem with Ndamukong Suh's violent sack on Monday night, but Brandon Marshall was not as nonchalant.

"A Suh. What u did to Jay wasn't cool. Great players don't have to do that," Marshall tweeted after the Bears' 13-7 win over the Detroit Lions at Soldier Field. "A Suh. Something I've learned and now passing down to you. Succeed with character."

"Last night the leg whip that Ndamukong Suh placed on our quarterback Jay Cutler, that was dirty. That was dirty," Marshall said. "He can be one of the best D-tackles that ever done it, but he cannot do that that way. If you look at it, c'mon man, this is not wrestling. You don't do that. That's not clean."

It was very difficult to watch the Bears offense last night. I keep waiting for them to put it together but I'm starting to wonder if it will happen. Honestly Brandon Marshall is the only real threat as far as pass-catchers; right now Matt Forte is probably the second best option. I'm really frustrated with our tight ends too.

I think our WR's are fine. To be honest, Jay hasn't looked very consistent on the season with some passes. The line is the line...Although it has gotten better as this season has gone on. The play calling hasn't been great, but again, has gotten better as the season has gone on.

I think we're putting it together just fine. We had good drives yesterday, we just didn't have the points to show for it. I think Earl Bennett being hurt early and Jefferies being hurt now also henders how good our pass catchers are going to look. Hester has looked better than I thought he would, but he's also only 5'10 and Jay usually slings it to him like he's 6'2.

Thankfully the running game looks good. I think we'll put it together. Hopefully it'll be against one of the really good teams we have coming up on the schedule. A statement win will be needed against one of the 9ers, Texans and Packers.

The offense looked good until Jay Cutler got Judo-slammed onto his ribs. I'm not too worried.

Wait, what?

That's because of the conservative play calling. If we had a more open offense and stable oline this offense would easily be top 10 if not top 5

But they are not in the bottom three though.

The defense is just playing so great right now, make me think of the 06 team.

While plenty of players got the credit they deserved for an impressive defensive performance by the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football, Henry Melton’s good play seemed to go relatively unnoticed. That’s understandable given the talent around him, but Melton stepped up time and time again against the Detroit Lions.

He stood out the most the passing game, generating a hit and five hurries from his 34 snaps as a pass rusher. That adds up to a Pass Rushing Productivity (PRP) Rating of 13.2, the second-highest PRP Rating for a defensive tackle in Week 7, and the sixth-highest all season. While his play against the run included that forced fumble on the goal line on 2nd-and-Goal with 5:26 left in the third quarter, his play as a pass rusher outshone his play against the run all night. With three of his hurries, and his single hit all coming in the final 8:42 of the game, he was at his most dominant when the game was on the line.

I REALLY hope he keeps it up and doesn't go Tommie Harris on us after he gets paid.

I hope he gets paid too and I expect that he will. Tommie's downfall was more injury related than anything.

True. Tommie Harris had an absolutely horrible injury. The guy's hamstring tore completely off the bone.

On top of that, he was dealing with some mental issues as well. IIRC, he was trying to be a good Christian, but he had a child out of wedlock & had tons of problems with the kid's mother.

The offense didn't play completely awful; I just wish they'd finish off those drives.
