It's amazing to think Jay Cutler can sometimes be so unpopular among fans while leading the Chicago Bears to a 6-1 start. Cutler said teammate Brandon Marshall told him that he was being booed during Sunday's 23-22 win against the Carolina Panthers.

"I'd boo us, too," Cutler said. "I told those guys it was a boo-worthy performance. It was pathetic offensively what we put out there."

I hate that people say Cutler isn't a leader. Most of the time it looks like he's the only who cares on offense(packers game is one example) and then he says things like this, but I'm sure someone in the media will say something bad about this

The reality is that Cutler is not popular at ESPN. That rubs off on the local media who then try to affect the fans.
I constantly challenge people who don't like him. The only thing they got is - he makes a frowny face. If we had Cutler in the 80s or before he would have been considered a tough SOB that could take it & dish it out. A perfect temperament for a Bears QB. Today, people think "he make a Frowny Face and that's not good for marketing"

The thing that gets me is that people always talk about how he shows too much emotion towards his coaches and teammates. Yet when he told Martz to go f*** himself the offensive play-calling changed, and the Bears went on a nice winning streak. When he got in Webb's face, Webb actually put forth effort for a few weeks. Sometimes you gotta be the guy who challenges the people around you, and Jay clearly isn't afraid to do that.

Sometimes the emotion carries over and his play drops off a little, like when he started making bad decisions against the Packers. But the line, especially Webb, has played much better since then. They still suck, but they are clearly playing with more effort. I'll take a bad second half from Jay against the Packers if it means the offensive line steps up a little because the quarterback just humiliated them on national television.

I think u guys said it all already.
The offense has to improve. But a silver lining, the Bears arent the only team who has had to sqeak by these panthers.
As i understand it, many of the Panthers loses are of the small margin variety.

One thing that pissed me off, besides the offense, is the personal foul on izzy. Because Izzy was held on the play. If anyone has that replay you can see izzy being grabbed by his shoulder pad as he turned the corner.

Theres a 7 page thread on the packer board about how they think they can get stephen jackson for a 5th round or lower pick.

I didnt respond to them cuz i dont want those guys coming over here, but Jax is syrely worth more than a 5th.

And with Jeff fisher being a former bear, hopefully he wouldnt want to help them out. Especially on the cheap.

-lost to the Bucs by 6 in Tampa Bay.
-Beat the Saints by 8 at home
-Blown out by 29 to the Giants at home
-lost to the Falcons by 2 in Atlanta
-lost to the Seahawks by 4 at home
-lost to the Cowboys by 5 at home
-lost to the Bears by 1 in Chicago

I mentioned it during the game thread that it was BS. It was such a clear hold, so I don't understand how the officials missed it.

5th round pick? That's a bit of a stretch. He's worth a lot more than that. As much as I wouldn't like to see him on the Packers, it'd certainly help my fantasy team.

Return to Chicago Bears
