SBG II: Round One Results : Round 2 Begins

Post#1 » by emperorjones » Tue Mar 12, 2013 9:07 pm

Hello All. We have 10 GMs this year that have made it through Round 1 and into Round 2! Its a good group and I think everyone will complete the game this year (Chewie? Chewie? anybody seen Chewie? )

I am now taking round 2 signings. However, you cannot give me round 2 signings until you've answered the Henry Melton Question and the Peppers restructuring conundrum. Neither of those decsisons are posted below as they are confidential and key to the game (I don't want GMs knowing how much other GMs have to spend in Round 2)

Notes on Round 2:

You can sign restricted free agents (see trade rules)
You cannot sign Franchised Players
You cannot sign Players that resigned with their teams before the start of NFL Free Agency

Could we continue to cut players in round 2?

Sorry, no. This year I had the first round be blind so players could not see what other GM's were doing and replicate it. To allow cuts in round two would erase that.

So now cuts are disallowed? There wasnt any elaboration of that stipulation.

Cuts were allowed until the first round ended. It's the same as last year's game.

The only difference is that he allowed us to cut anyone on the roster, unlike last year when we only had a few players to select from.

Okay, just wondering. I didn't realize how much Melton and others would cost, so I was looking to cut players to save cap space.

Sorry, but I posted this in the Melton thread in the announcements on 3/3:

by emperorjones on Sun Mar 03, 2013 12:28 pm

You are allowed to cut additional players at this point, however you cannot cut any players you resigned in round 1. I will put this in a separate note

by patryk7754 on Sun Mar 03, 2013 12:49 pm

And can we resign people that we didn't at first?

No. The only thing you can do at this point is make additonal cuts. However you cannot cut players that you resigned in round 1. Assume players that you chose not to resign have signed with other teams.

Welcome to round 1(b) - The Wrath of Melton

Agents. Who needs em? Nobody. Nevertheless, Melton Walked on you (see announcements above) and created round 1(b). This note is to clarify what can now take place.

Other than what is outlined specifically with Melton above,

You Can:

* Cut additional players from your roster who are not free agents during this week to save cap money. (ex: You can cut Julius Peppers or any other player under contract)

You Cannot:

1. Cut players you resigned in Round 1 (ex: If you resigned Brian Urlacher or Kellen Davis, you cannot cut them now)

2. Sign players you decided not to sign in Round 1

Everything i have read has not pointed out a restriction of cuts to the degree i have made them.
Ive made cuts in round 2 but they are not players i resigned in round 1. So that is not acceptable?

There was a one week extension given to make cuts after the Wrath of Melton.

You cannot cut players in round 2.....

Understood. Right now ive mistakenly made signings in lieu of illegal cuts is there a way to correct this?
