Earl the Pearl

Post#1 » by DSand » Fri Mar 15, 2013 5:38 pm

One of the guys I hope thrives under the new coaches is Earl Bennett. Even though he is a bit injury prone so far, he has shown he's not afraid to play in the middle of the field and has very reliable hands. He seems like a tough guy who could have a nasty streak if given the right role on the team. And that one play last year when he took the quick out pass down the sideline for the touchdown was something I didn't know he had in him. I also like how hard he fights for extra yards after the catch, kind of a hard guy to bring down. I am ignorant to his blocking ability so I don't know if that is a plus or something that needs work. Anyways, I just wanted to get the guys name out there because of the talk of us lacking receivers, he's really never mentioned. Of course we still need help there but I'm hoping Earl the Pearl will become a more prominent part of our new offense.

Until we got Brandon Marshall I felt that he had been the best wide receiver on the team for several years, and by a wide margin. I'm hopeful that he's the third best this year. Ideally, though, he's probably a #4.

Earl will be lucky to not be cut.

Seems unlikely. Hes still legitimately the 2nd best WR on the roster until Jeffrey shows he has taken another step

Yeah, hopefully Alshon can stay healthy and emerge as our legit #2.

I think Earl has the potential to be a top 10-15 slot receiver NFL but he can't stay healthy
