I honestly think we are going heavy Defense in the Draft this year, now that we have a TE and a LT. We will probably pick up a guard or a center in the 2nd or 4th, but I think we will see a LB in the first, even if we sign Urlacher to a new deal.

BTW, I can see Carmini having a bounce-back season. We have to remember that because he was injured his rookie season, last season ended up basically being another rookie season for him. Not to mention that it's possible that he hadn't regained his strength after coming off that lower body injury.

I remember we gave up on Marc Culumbo too soon after he returned from a lower body injury. Once he became healthy, he had a nice run with the Cowboys after we cut him.

It would not surprise me to see Carmini grab a firm hold of the starting RT position.

That would be nice. I think Webb would be very good on the right side, With Carmini as RG and Louis as LG if healthy. I really would like us to pick up a Center in the draft, or another guard. Possibly in the second or fourth. I think we grab Ogletree if he is there at 20.

The Center position has been on my mind for a few seasons. Garza was a damn good OG at one time, but Lovie did what Lovie always did. He took a player that was performing well at one position & decided to change his position.

Webb shifting to RT after Bushrod signing

J'Marcus Webb is on the move.

Chicago Bears general manager Phil Emery confirmed that Webb has been flipped to right tackle following the signing of two-time Pro Bowl left tackle Jermon Bushrod to a five-year, $35.9 million contract on Tuesday.

Webb, who started 12 games at right tackle his rookie year for the Bears, is expected to be in competition with Gabe Carimi and/or unrestricted free agent Jonathan Scott, whom the Bears will attempt to re-sign. If they fail in their bid to bring back Scott, the Bears could add another tackle in free agency or the draft.

Carimi also will get a look inside at guard, according to Emery.

You can always find a speed guy late in the draft.

I was to post celebration gifts but after Orlando Pace I'm wary. I've been hurt before...

Bushrod's performance will give us a great indication of how good of a coach and talent evaluator Kromer is.

#Bears give Jermon Bushrod $35.965 million over five years with $17.715 guaranteed.

We could have had Jake Long for a few million more:

Rams snag OT Jake Long

Offensive tackle Jake Long has agreed to a deal with the St. Louis Rams.

Kevin Demoff, the team's chief operating officer, confirmed the signing Sunday night.

The deal is for four years and could be worth up to $36 million, a league source told ESPN's Adam Schefter. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported the deal was worth $36 million.

Did we find out how much Long got as far as guaranteed money is concerned?

So I saw that Long got only 14 mil guaranteed. And we gave Bushrod 17 mil. Rams also cleared Long supposedly as far as any lingering long term effect on his injury. I sure hope the Bears didn't blow it on this one.

That's pretty surprising. If Long is healthy that's a real solid deal.

So, we paid more guaranteed money to Bushrod over Long :o .

Emery better know something that we don't know.

Biggie I think maybe the Bears just didn't trust his injury. That and Bushrod has already worked with Kroemer.

Yea, you're probably right.

I just hope that it doesn't bite them in the *ss.
