Re: Week 5- Saints @ Bears
I guess his 385 total yards, and his 2TDs are pointless since he couldn't get us a 80 yard TD on the final play..
He had a good game. Its easy to look around the league and marvel at some of the young talent at QB, but I'm wondering if you guys remember what we're used to...

The crazy part is that Cutler's stats would be very relevant to some people if he threw 4 INTs

This is getting really sad. "Make it interesting" is what teams who are trying to break through and get a winning record do. I am feeling just like I did during much of Lovie's tenure, but this seems even worse because we were good with the same personnel, but now with all this new coaching we don't really know anymore with each passing week. All that offensive masterminding produced a total of 18 points today, at home.
TLDR: Current Pulse Readings (9/2/22)
Bulls:
UCLA Basketball:
UCLA Football: Chip Kelly magic time
Cubs: Uh, 2016
Blackhawks: Uh, 2015
Bears: Poor Justin Fields
FC Barcelona: Economic levers

That's what handing over our first 2 drives, failing to convert a first and goal, and having a WR drop an easy 4th down conversion catch, and losing the TOP battle by 8 minutes does.

1. We beat ourselves
2. Alston has arrived as a legit 1b and Marshall will be more open moving fwd
3. If we don't get a pass rush going we won't be in the playoffs. We may need to cut Peppers, spend big on a DE and draft the best DT available.

Jeffery has 15 catches for 325 yards for an average of 21.8 yards per catch in the past 2 games, to go with 2 TDs as well as a 27 yard end around rush.

Its hard to find a goat but if i had to choose one it would be the offensive line. Outside of that the defense has seemed uncapable every week. Even the wins we got it was in spite of the D. Its already time if we have shown we arent a good d at least start developing ur younger players. Or we giving DJwilliams the farewell tour urlacher never got.

Lol Cutler with a 100+ passer rating , he cant be blamed for the loss.
Box Score;
http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/201310060 ... e=boxscore
Bears d allow 82% completion percentage to Drew Brees. Thats on top of 65% completions the d was allowing before the game. That equates to a 69% completion percentage allowed. Only team worse is the oakland raiders at 72%.

I think we just lost to a better team. The defense and special teams aren't elite anymore but the offense has progressed from terrible to good.
I'm going to be patient with this team and see what it looks like by game 10 and then by game 15. I just want to see a team that is significantly better by the end of the season than it is now. That's all. Defense, special teams and second/third quarter offense... hello... I'm looking at you.

Brandon needs to stop getting in front of the cameras so much and keep it to one word responses. He actually speaks thoughts outloud that he was supposed to keep inside his head. Most anybody else would look around the room and say.."Did I just say that out loud?"
I don't think he actually meant it exactly like the way its gonna get spun around the Chicago media. It was more a sense of frustration about his own performance level I bet. But still......

Re: Week 5- Saints @ Bears
I feel like the Bears are still too conservative on offense and only try scoring when they absolutely need to. They rarely try and push the ball down the field. And I wonder if that's because they still don't have the trust in the oline with Long and Mills on the right side.
Why else would they still not bust open the play book get really get the offense rolling?

I feel that they are to conservative as well. I fee that in the first three quarters the bears has dumbed down the offense under both Lovie and now Trestman. Then when the bears have no choice but to open up the offense Cutler excels. I think the Bears need to start off by playing like they're down by 14. The problem is, the coaches don't trust Cutler enough to use a more attacking offense over a "don't mess up" offense.

probably that would have everything to do with the O-line line, if they were indeed fairly conservative. It takes a couple years for a line to come together too, so they don't want to expose Cutler too too much. I don't anticipate the Bears passing 50 times in a game very much if ever. Also, they don't feature speed.

They do attack, but only when they absolutely need to. But by that point it becomes where ZERO errors can happen. So by then every play becomes a do or die situation.

Not looking for them to pass the ball 50 times.
However, I would like them to have the mentality they have in late game come back situations which is a bit more aggressive in moving the ball down the field.

Definitely shouldn't be throwing the ball 50 times.i like the amount of throws I just think the plays should be more aggressive to get cutler going earlier.

Re: Week 5- Saints @ Bears
Fact of the matter is our safeties arent that good. They were deemed servicable with a good bears front 7. Without that we are that worse of a defense, while still servicable to a point they are more exploitable.
