SuperBowl Game Q&A/DIscussion Thread for GM Candidates

I figured that since the GM candidates will be rating each other, it would not hurt to have a thread where the candidates could question each other about the various moves they made over the course of the game, or explain their general philosophy as they built their teams.

I could not help but notice that during the free-agent portion of the Super Bowl Game, I was the only GM candidate who made a move to acquire Brandon Myers.

Myers caught 79 passes in 2012 - a figure that would not have been even a close second to Brandon Marshall's 2012 figure of 118 receptions, and his 804 yards would also have been a distant second to Marshall's 1,508. Yet both totals would have largely exceeded the second-place receiver on the Bears in 2012 (Earl Bennett, with 29 catches for 375 yards).

Are there any thoughts on this anomalous tight end selection?

Seriously, why the attraction for Bennett over Myers?

Question for SBG participants:
If you had been able to make trades of players for draft picks, what moves would you have made, and who would you have picked?

Trade idk. Never really thought about it, probably Earl Bennet. idk what kind of pick i could get for him.
It really depends on what round i got the pick but i could have used the pick on wr to replace him or a dlineman for depth.

wat about u?

Myers is a slightly better receiver but can't block at all while Bennett is an elite blocking TE.

Also based on the free agent rankings Bennet is higher ranked than Meyers.

Boy did i have my reservations to signing Melton to the franchise in the game. But thought i would laughed at and ostracized by other Gms.

Melton wasn't a tough call for me. He's one of the better DTs in the game, and franchising him kept the "bird in hand" for at least 2013.

Injuries are a part of the game.

My plan for DT was to move Idjonie inside alongside Melton, with Wooton and McClellin comepting for the other starting spot. For me, Paea was trade-bait.

Suggestion if we do this again next year. We have the ability to fire and hire coaches but only if they don't resign with their current team and it has to be at the same position. For example, if Lovie signs with a team as a DC then we're free to sign him. But if he signs as a head coach then we have to hire h8m as HC coach and fire Trestman
