Now considering how pace since the season ended was making the rounds claiming how the bears had money and would be aggressive it doesnt seem as though they were serious .

Now the free agency is a risk as evidenced by the injuries of our own free agents from last year but its already a little off putting for DB to be a need when we have used 4 picks on Dbs the last 2 drafts and still the need became even greater and instead of filling it for the next 3-4 years we bargained shop offering prove it deals to fringe guys and now the draft comes up and its DB heavy :nonono:

I dont think its a overreaction to be extremely disappointed in the direction so far

Agree, do not disgaree with a single point here.

We now have 19 DBs. Interestingly enough, none of them are listed as safeties or corners on the roster. And with what the Bears have said about some players, it looks like there will be some moving parts

Right now 19 DB's is a good problem to have. But i thought I read Deandre Hall was moving to Safety?

Deandre Hall and Fuller have been mentioned as guys who may switch. I thought we retained Demontre Hurst but I'm not seeing him on the roster. He made the switch last season

We've lost 2 DEs (Ferguson and Washington). Signed Kapron Lewis Moore to a reserve/future contract. He has 3 tackles in 5 games with Baltimore back in 2015. Maybe a practice squad player.

We added NT John Jenkins who Pace helped draft to New Orleans. He has 51 career games and 22 starts. Listed at 6'3" 359lbs.

So at NT we have Goldman, Jenkins, Sutton. At DE we have Hicks, Unrein, Bullard, Wilson, KLM. Outside of Hicks, none of those DEs were even remotely worth of being a starter.

Tracy Porter is cut.

In SF Fangio drafted Ward specifically as a tight end matchup player. I think the staff envisions Cooper, Amukamara or Fuller as the guy who will play that role. The other two at CB, Demps and Amos at Safety. Callahan will probably be the slot cover player, but everyone will compete for that spot. And everyone else competiting for reps and continuing to improve.
