Word at the combine is Bears may feel Howard is not a good fit in Nagy's scheme

All of the Bears brass watched RB workouts at the combine. More personell watching than any other team.

Its very unlikely that he falls into the 2nd but if he's there for us we definitely take him. He'll probably be the best player available and he can play many roles on defense. He can play SS or OLB. Can cover slot receivers and TEs decently, he can rush the QB and plays well in the run games. He even put his hand in the dirt sometimes for Florida St. I expect him to fill the Marc Barron role.

Agreed. Altho Fitzpatrick could possibly drop if teams get QB fever. I'd take him over James as he can play anywhere in the 2ndary. Davenports DE stock has risen since the combine and this position is an absolute need. Arden Key is another option here. Either way definitely think the bears should go defense in the 1st rd. Plenty of value for offense in later rnds

I like WR DJ Moore as an option in round 2.

Yes. He's my guy. We just cut three veteran linebackers and we're thin there. The kid is a freak and will he special

Used First-Pick.com, and came up with this:
Round 1 Pick 19 (DAL): McGlinchey, Mike, OT, Notre Dame
Round 2 Pick 7: Phillips, Harrison, DT, Stanford
Round 2 Pick 15 (ARI): Landry, Harold, OLB/DE, Boston College
Round 2 Pick 18 (DAL): Moore, DJ, WR, Maryland
Round 2 Pick 23 (CAR): Hurst, Hayden, TE, South Carolina
Round 3 Pick 21 (CAR): Clapp, Will, C/OG, LSU
Round 3 Pick 24 (CAR): Holmes, Jalyn, DE, Ohio State
Round 4 Pick 7 (NYJ): Jackson, Donte, CB, LSU
Round 4 Pick 15: Smith, TreQuan, WR, Central Florida
Round 5 Pick 8: Edmunds, Terrell, SS, Virginia Tech
Round 5 Pick 20 (NYJ): Flowers, Dimitri, FB, Oklahoma
Round 6 Pick 35 (K.C.): Trumbetti, Andrew, DE, Notre Dame
Round 6 Pick 37 (HOU): Brown, Drew, K, Nebraska
Round 7 Pick 1 (CLE): Apke, Troy, SS, Penn State
Round 7 Pick 4 (HOU): Ballage, Kalen, RB, Arizona State
Round 7 Pick 6: Litton, Chase, QB, Marshall

Did a lot of trading down - four second-round picks land some real help on offense and defense, especially in protecting Trubisky, and getting him a couple of targets.

Hes going to be a beast day 1. I think he will be gone though. Also think now that we have the best o line coach in all of football that I’d rather draft o line later and let him coach em up.

I want an edge rusher but Chubb will be gone. Edmunds or Smith at LB would be a big upgrade but we need edge and CB more IMO.

I’d trade back and get another 2nd. Take a CB like Josh Jackson or 2 Edge Rushers w next picks.

Reports say the Bears are trying to sign S Burnett from the packers. His rumored asking price is starting at $8.5m per season.

If Pace really is interested in Burnett then I'd have to imagine Derwin James could be in play at #8

tyrann mathieu is going to be released. If S is a legit target then there is no reason not to go after Mathieu

Safety is a sneaky need. Behind Amos, and Jackson there isn't any depth there. Don't think they believe they have anything in Deon Bush or Deiondre Hall if they are supposedly looking elsewhere. Outside of Fitzpatrick though, I don't see any safety worth taking at 8.

Its still Edmunds, best edge rusher in 2nd, O-line with the first pick in the 4th for me. I wouldn't discount a RT in the 2nd round either if they like the right guy. I don't buy Massie at that spot. In addition to backup safety should maybe look for another RB. We're kinda screwed if Howard goes down and this is a strong RB class. Find more ILB depth too since Christian Jones left.

It has to be Edmunds. He may not be quite as good as Nelson (not precluding it though) . But he def plays a harder more important position to fill, and he is a rare athlete in the middle of the field. Has to be Edmunds. Plus, some day you will have to blow out your salary structure for a guard in Nelson. Not a good thing to do. Go O-line in round 2.

The Bears can't on purpose not lock up the future in the middle of the defense when the solution is right here. That unit is primed to carry the team, but 3-4s need elite linebackers. Trevathan, ok. ski, ok. But elite, no.Those guys to me are depth, and adequacy. Not building blocks.

Trevathan is closer to elite than he is to a depth player IMO.

Overall I'm happy with where Pace has put us. If he wants to trade up and get Chubb, that's cool. If he wants to trade back because a team wants to go get a QB and we get a bunch of assets, that's cool. If he decides to take a stud at 8, that's cool with me too.

If you think the Bears were fleeced by SF (which they weren't)
the Jets just paid over 4 times as much as the Bears did last draft.

In Pace we trust.

If Chubb and Edmunds are gone (I think they will be) you trade back and grab edge corner edge w the picks.

I want a corner that can make a play on the ball. Give me Josh Jackson.
