idk about that. That seems to be the market now with guys like collins and MAthiue getting 14/yr. and Amos had a better season than Collins this past season

I think Collins got paid based on name recognition. He is definitely limited. I get Amos' versatility and all, but GB wants to use him as a FS. He can play different roles for a certain amount of time, but he isn’t a true FS. Fangio knew how to use Amos and he did not pay to get Amos at that price in Denver either. Amos needs to be paired with a ball hawk. The reports on the trade from like PFF etc are totally overblown. They said Amos doesn't make mistakes. I remember plenty he has made here. The contract was reported as ~12M per (4yrs 47M) by Shefty initially, a couple others after say 9M per which is better. I think his true value is not over 8M.

If Amos destroys us when we play GB then you guys can call me on my take, but I think Pace did the right thing not overpaying him in this market.

Haha Clinton-Dix and Tre Boston look like the top two options now. If Howard is traded for a 2nd round pick that could also be the new starting safety.

Since there aren’t many good replacement options in FA or in this years draft for RBs I think we should keep Howard and just let him walk as a FA. There may be better draft options next off-season and we would get some type of compensatory pick to help resupply draft capitol.

Go get Eric berry.

BTW what are the chiefs doing? They're getting rid off their entire defense

Bears bringing in a Ha ha Clinton-Dix (HHCD) for a visit tonight through tomorrow. I dont think he is better than Amos so i hope they dont overpay. That wouldnt make sense.

Bears got Ha ha and didn't overpay for him. Got him for a steal actually.

On his career, Clinton-Dix has appeared in 84 games with 74 starts, totaling 456 tackles, 5.5 sacks, 14 interceptions and 28 passes defensed.

On his career, Amos has appeared in 60 games with 56 starts, totaling 235 tackles, 2.0 sacks, 3 interceptions and 19 passes defensed

Bears get arguably the best corner and under paid a very talented safety in ha ha who is gonna be hungry, amos was a product of the system more than talent so I believe ha ha will have a better year due to being in a better system.
Offensive not a bad hall kyle long replacement for injury concerns. Blocking tight end. And way versatile wide out Patterson who won't steal reps because you can place him anywhere. And davis who is ready for a breakout season. I'd like the rest of the money we have to go to suh or another edge rusher. Also looks like we might get ourselves into the 2nd Rd with trading howard.
Gonna be nfc north Champs for a good 4 year run at least.

Ha Ha for 3.5m? I'm game.

Get us a kicker and another pass rusher and we're going to be freaking nasty.

What a great singing! He was on my short list if we didn't keep Amos (Thomas, Collins, and Haha). Pace played his cards perfectly! Waited for one if the top guys to slip through the cracks and got a steal

ESPN reported that Clinton-Dix received better offers, but he wanted to play with Eddie Jackson since they were college teammates. It probably didn't hurt that we're a rising team.

There are quite a few good CBs left. Mo Claiborne, EJ Gaines, Rashaan Melvin, Darquez Denard, Deshawn Shead. I don't think we NEED another guy like this but it would definitely be a good addition.

Pace has done a good job so far in FA. All we need now is more pass rushers, more kicker competition, and depth at safety. More depth at OT and CB would be nice too. Still plenty of options in FA, but the rest can be filled through the draft.
