LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Restricted free-agent linebacker Nick Roach on Monday signed the one-year tender offer he received from the Bears.

Roach, 24, started 15 of 16 games played last season, establishing career highs with 82 tackles, 10 tackles-for-loss, two sacks, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and four pass breakups.
Over the final 10 games of the season, the Northwestern product registered 41 tackles, six tackles-for-loss, one sack, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

Roach’s recovery of an Adrian Peterson fumble in overtime of a Week 16 contest against the Vikings set up Jay Cutler’s winning 39-yard touchdown pass to Devin Aromashodu on the next play.

Roach was originally signed by the Bears on Nov. 21, 2007 off the Chargers practice squad. He has appeared in 33 career games with 24 starts, recording 122 tackles, 12 tackles-for-loss, three forced fumbles, two sacks, one fumble recovery, five pass breakups and 21 special-teams tackles.

Nice to have him back. No surprise though.
