Bears Draft Harvey Unga

"The Bears' crowded backfield got a little more crowded Thursday when they used a seventh-round pick in the supplemental draft to select Brigham Young running back Harvey Unga.

At 6-1, 244 pounds, Unga is a power back who also can contribute as a pass receiver and pass protector. He has some potential as a one-back, and also could even be considered at fullback. He ran a 4.65 40 yard dash, which undoubtedly hurt his stock.

Unga entered the supplemental draft after being dismissed from Brigham Young for violating the school's honor code, allegedly for having pre-marital sex with his girlfriend."

Looks like he could be a good player and they only gave up a 7th rounder next year!

I have concerns about his character though. He might be a bad influence in the locker room. Just another thug!

Don't know why they'd sign a guy to a 4 year contract if they didn't have plans for him.

If he can find a way to play special teams, I wouldn't be surprised to see him beat out Wolfe and Bell and be the 3rd back, or make the team as a fullback.

Living in Utah I've watched him play a lot. This dude can be a beast. He is BYU's career leading rusher with over 3400 yards in 3 years. He also can catch the ball, he caught 102 passes in his 3 years in college.

He's 6 feet tall and 240 pounds, and I believe he ran a 4.6 at his pro day.

Obviously character is no concern, all he did was have pre-marital sex with his girlfriend, who he is now marrying. Only at BYU would he be dismissed from school for such a thing. He's really a good guy.

I think he has some potential and I'm excited that the Bears picked him up. Definitely worth a next years 7th rounder.
