Problem with our secondary coaching - or lack thereof

You all know me as the resident homer. But I do have issues with the team believe it or not.
My biggest problem is with what we are doing from a coaching standpoint. Lovie seems to be fixated on playing guys that "Make Plays". In that sense to me he is like a fan. We have been rotating players in and out of the secondary like mad over the years, but it has gotten ridiculous recently.
Last year out of know where, Al Afalava, a rookie 6th round pick who missed all of OTAs was thrust into the starting lineup. He started 14 games. This year he's cut. WHAT?!?!?! Let me get this straight - he beats out Josh Bullocks and Craig Steltz to start, but this year he's not even worth coaching? The coaching staff really saw enough of Al A to know that he would not improve? The same coaches that knew he was a starter without even going to OTAs. He made a few picks at the start of training camp last year and they were in love. If Icness doesn't give us the inside scoop and tell us that there was some off the field problem - then this is ridiculous. Daniel Manning on the other hand has stuck around for years being allowed to make mistake after mistake at LCB, RCB, Nickel, FS & now SS.
Now on to Zack Bowman. Tillman, our one reliable CB over the years is demoted to Bowman - why? Because the coaches think Zack makes plays. Now Zack is on the bench for missing a tackle and Jennings is the play maker (even though he only got that fumble because he was late on the play and the hard tackle was only because he was playing so far off he had tons of room to build up speed). So now no more Zack? But is Jennings really better than Zack and was Zack better than Tillman?
So much of "making plays" is the luck of being in the right place at the right time. I like DJ Moore and now the coaching staff loves him because he's "making plays" - but those two interceptions where luck of the draw. I only wonder if he drops them does he get deactivated the next week.
