The Chicago Bears could win it all.

At least that's what quarterback Jay Cutler thinks about the Bears (8-3), who have won four in a row heading into Sunday's matchup against the Detroit Lions (2-9).

Asked whether the Bears were good enough to win the Super Bowl, Cutler said, "I think so. You've got to believe that. If you don't believe that, there's no use playing right now."

National analysts such as Mike Ditka said the Bears are the top team in the NFC at the moment, and Steve Young said the Bears could advance to the Super Bowl.

Cutler said the Bears' 31-26 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday excited the team, but it hasn't provided a sense of satisfaction.

"I think the team's excited," he said. "I think everyone's got their feet back on the ground now. But you could tell what it meant to that team in the locker room afterward [by] how excited everyone was.

"I think in the back of everyone's mind we got a little bit of respect by beating a team like that. But like [Julius] Peppers said, and Olin [Kreutz], and some of those other guys, and [Brian Urlacher]: 'We're far from finished.

I don't see a team in the NFC the Bears can't beat. It will come down to injuries & home field advantage. Atlanta looks good, but beatable. The Giants crushed us at their place but only scored 17 Pts as bad as we played. The Pack are one dimensional with no running game. That will kill them in December when the weather gets bad. New Orleans could be tough but is beatable. Also IMO, the entire AFC is over rated. The great NY Jets, for example, have only beaten one team with a winning record.

And also- Thanks for posting Biggie

I'd be a little concerned if he thought otherwise.

This is how I have viewed the Bears chances also, Emperor. If we can stay healthy, we have a chance to defeat any team in the league. As far as the Jets are concerned, they will never get called out by the national media for their questionable victories (OT against two inferior teams). Listening to ESPN, you would think that they have blown out every opponent this season. Yet, the Bears are "lucky" to win.
