I am very impatient and it's bothering me that they still haven't announced what we're getting for him.

They're getting a player and a pick for Greg Olsen. So, not much of merit.

John Clayton is saying LB Dan Connor (good). Biggs is saying just a third-round pick (horrendous)

If we could somehow get Steve Smith in return, I would be Bigg Sweet. We desperately need a real reliable #1 WR to help Cutler and the offense become respectable.

I'd be thrilled with a 3rd rounder for Olsen. Considering we were going to get a #2 for him prior to the 2010 draft and he's now a year older and coming off a statistically poor season, I was expecting a 5th rounder just to take his salary off our hands.
Now we just need a GM who can do something with said pick.

A 3rd rd. for pick him would be great.
It's good to see real Bear fans up at 12:53 AM talking Bears Football.
What's up with the time being so far off on the site.
Is the site outsourced, and now ran out of England.

chicagobears.com is saying he was traded for an undisclosed draft pick so I'm not sure if Connor is included. If we got both then I really like the trade. Connor could possibly be our third starter at LB.

Looks like it is just a 3rd.

http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/ ... ued-scheme# Greg Olsen had been traded to the Carolina Panthers for a draft pick and a player to be named, according to a Chicago Tribune report. *Update: The Bears announced they received only a draft pick, not a player, in the trade. The Tribune reports it is a third-rounder in 2012.

Olsen is replaceable and not worth the extension Rosenhaus will demand next year.
Like the trade.

Olsen was completely expendable and doesn't fit here, but to only get a draft pick for him is bad.

Yea, but you have to think it will make our offense even worse next year. That's horrifying. Plus Angelo is a terrible drafter. This trade doesn't make me feel any better about the Bears.

He's been paid. We gave him the extension. Rosenhaus got big contracts for Charles Johnson and Jon Beason so I'm sure Olsen got one too. Don't know the exact money amount though.

There are still a lot of positions they need to address and need to get to about $111M payroll to get to the salary cap floor.
backup running back (unless they want Unga)
receiver (Roy Williams and/or Mike Sims-Walker)
at least 2 interior linemen (hopefully pro-bowl caliber players)
defensive end (somebody like Cliff Avril would be nice)
defensive tackle (anyone from Toeina to Jenkins would work)
linebacker (I'd be fine with Roach)
safety (I like Huff)

I don't think we've officially released Chester Taylor yet have we? Looks like Roy Williams is the man at WR - he'll immediately be a starter in this offense. He's played under Martz before and the fact he wants him on the team says something and at 29 he'll still have something left in the tank. Kind of meh about it but it's prob better than what we have.
BTW, you mention Toeina above but he was already extended thru 2013 late last year.
The fact we haven't signed Kreutz and Anthony Adams should say something. I'm wondering what the backup plans are if they don't get signed.
And I hope we can pony up for Corey Graham. What a special teams stud he is.
