Preseason Game#2: Bears @ Giants 7pm

Let's get it on!

All eyes on Webb and Louis tonight.

Iwuh gets a start for Briggs tonight - if he falters I imagine we'll be hitting the waiver/trade wire hard for a vet LB as we have zero depth.

Also will be nice to see how the last WR spot shapes out as we've got a few contenders there.

As a side note.....after watching some preseason games I can safely say this new kickoff rule SUCKS. Who wants to see touchbacks?? If the NFL is so concerned about players safety and kickoffs are proven to have a wildly increased rate of injury then why wouldn't they just eliminate the risk altogether and do away with kickoffs and place the ball at the 20 ? Or let's just have them play two hand touch on kickoffs. NOW, after a touchdown it's going to go like this :

Extra point
Commercial
Kickoff for a touchback
Commercial

That's 7 minutes of must miss TV for every touchdown. Awesome idea !!!

Of course, this really does hurt teams with good kick off returners like the Bears and I have zero doubt they're going to review this after a failed 2011 season and change it right back.

Agreed, this new kickoff rule BLOWS! It probably hurts our team more than any others too.

I agree with you. Had a long discussion with a NE fan about the new rule....and this rule definitely sucks!

Is there any reason for this new rule??

Defense is fine and I like the Forte screen but so many mistakes on offense.

Louis missed block leads to run for loss
Webb false start
Williams drop
Hester stumble on sure TD

Cutler has to be thrilled.

On that Hester drop, he was hit early. I frame by frame'd it, and the push was enough to completely screw up the catch.

Louis will be hitting the pines after this game - no doubt. Just got beat again resulting in Cutler sack.
