McNabb has been pretty dreadful since leaving Philly, but at this point do you pick him up? Maybe I'm living in the past, but I'd think he could help us if we want to attempt to make a run at a superbowl. I'd probably start Hanie one more week and let McNabb learn the offense then only go to McNabb if Hanie has another terrible game.

However, Hanie was making pretty bad decisions and didn't look like he could thrown on the run to save his life. His accuracy was terrible. I'm sure he has plenty of ability to turn some of that around, but McNabb seems like a nice hedge when you're at a point that you're still playing to make the playoffs.

The 2006 Madden Football fan in me says absolutely. Unfortunately, he's just looked pretty bad throwing at reciever's feet. The other thing I don't get is how he's been dropped to third string by both his last two teams. I'm getting the sense he might not be a good locker room guy or something.

The question is, is McNabb better than Nathan Enderle?

We should have signed McNabb once he cleared waivers. We need an established vet with current playing experience that is still serviceable and effective. McNabb would be far superior than what Hanie is giving us. Hanie looks like a high school QB inserted into an NFL game.

He looks way out of his league and has been terrible. During some preaseason games in the past I thought he showed some potential, but he can not make simple throws to wide open receivers.

We should sign McNabb immediately after this game and start him next Sunday. McNabb lack some his of great athleticism, but still has a very strong arm and athletic enough with vet savvy . Our offense now is totally nonexistent.

Bring in McNabb!

After watching this game today...slow and old McNabb would be better than Caleb Hanie any day of the week.

I agree that it's kinda late in the game to be thinking we can bring in someone who has no experience in this system. McNabb as Cutler's backup next year would certainly be an upgrade to Hanie, however. Hanie probably won't be back next year and we'll be looking for a vet anyways.

In all honesty, Cliff Levingston kind of hopes we lose out to get a better draft pick. Without Cutler and Forte, the Bears' chances of making the playoffs are slim already. If we're going to miss the playoffs, might as well miss by a lot and get a little closer to a trade-up scenario for Justin Blackmon.

I agree with this perspective and approach of losing and improve our chances of landing a legit #1 WR in the draft, and I also agree with the prospect of bringing in McNabb next year as Cutler's legit vet backup QB.

Let us allow Cutler and Forte to mend and come back fresh and healthy for next season. I wanted the Bears to win now, but we should tank, since if we did make the playoffs - without Cutler and Forte we would not reasonably stand a chance to accomplish much.
