1. heir_jordan22
Franchise Tag
Forte -$7.7M

Re-sign
Bell -$1.925M
Graham -$1.59M
Davis -$1M

Total: -$12.215

Cuts
Barber +$1.9
Omiyale +$1.8
Total: +3.7

Tagging Forte would save money, but Realistically it would piss him off and I think it's importamt to keep the lockeroom and organization cohesive.

Remaining cash: $23.485

Starter needs: WR, CB, DE, OL
Reserve needs: S, QB, OL, LB, RB, TE

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2. GM Chewie :

1. Franchise Forte with the $7.7m (players gets franchised ALL the time, Matt....deal with it. (-$7.7m)

2. Cut Frank OMG! and Barber. Bell showed me enough when he got a chance and Barber single-handedly put the Broncos in the playoffs. This was a tough decision as Barber looked good when healthy. The thing is that Bell and Barber have similar bruising styles. I'd rather the 3rd RB be more of a 3rd down scat-back. (+$3.7m)

3. Releasing/Not Signing : Israel Idonije, Tim Jennings, Brandon Meriweather, Zackary Bowman, Caleb Hanie, Roy Williams, Josh McCown (+/- $0m). Meriweather, Bowman, Hanie seem like givens they're gone. I think McCown was more of a fit for Martz's offense and I'm not paying $3.6m for him. We, er, I can do better in FA.

Resigning:

4. Kahlil Bell (-$1.925m)
5. Corey Graham, (-$1.59)
6. Amobi Okoye, (-$1.975)
7. Craig Steltz (-$1.00)
8. Kellen Davis (-$1.00)

Resigning Charge to cap= -$7.49 m

Cuts= +3.7
Forte= -$7.7
Re-signings = -$7.49

Total change to salary cap space: - $11.49m
Remaining cap space: $20.51

Positions needed after round 1 moves:

Starters: WR, DE, CB, OT
Reserve: S, QB, RB, LB

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3. GM DJhitek:

1. Franchise Forte (-$7.7m)

2. Cut Omiyale and Barber (+$3.7m)

3. Releasing/Not Signing : I literally, would not resign everyone except the below.

Resigning:

4. Kahlil Bell (-$1.925m)
5. C.Graham (-1.59)
6. C.Steltz (-1.00)

$23.485 left over

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4. GM patryk7754

Franchise Tag:
-Matt Forte
Resign:
-Corey Graham
-Craig Stleltz
-Kellen Davis
Cut:
-Barber
-Omiyale

Cap left: $24.41M

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5. GM BIGGIEsmalls23

1. Franchise Forte--I'm doing this because I have to, but I will find a way to set up a potential trade down the road (maybe during the following off-season).

I like Forte's versatility, but I'm not in love with his speed. If I'm gonna break the bank for a RB, he has to have breakaway speed among his attributes. If his contract demands fall more to my liking, I'm signing him long-term.-----$7.7 Million

2. Without hesitation, I'm cutting Barber & Omiyale.

Omiyale has been given countless opportunities, but seems to be content with the money Angelo foolishly signed him to. He doesn't even try anymore, IMHO.-----$1.8 Million

Barber was a steal in FA last season before the infamous Denver game. It wasn't the mistakes that got him this cut, it was the reported selfishness of putting contract bonuses ahead of the team. We know Lovie well enough to know that he rallies around players that make simple mistakes (see Rex Grossman), but for Lovie to basically replace Barber with Bell told me that the rumors of Denver were true.-----$1.9 Million

3. I'm only re-signing three other guys:

Bell-----$1.925 Million. I'm later approaching him with a 4yr contract offer while his stock is still somewhat low. He will be my emergency solution if the above Forte plan goes awry.

Graham-----$1.59 Million. I'm later approaching him with a 4yr contract offer, as well. Special teams ace & possible replacement for Peanut in a couple of years. He obviously has a good attitude, considering the way Lovie has yo-yo'd him like he did Daniel Manning.

Davis-----$1Million. I don't believe that he's been given a legit opportunity. First Greg Olsen & Desmond Clark were getting the bulk of playing time, then Martz's system took him out. On top of that, we're woefully thin at the TE spot.

I wrestled with a few players, but deemed them expendable.

Steltz-----Serviceable at times, but I've never been a fan. That position WILL be addressed this off-season.

Okoye-----Showed flashes, but I expected more. I'd be willing to give him another shot, but I'm not willing to pay the money that would be required. That's too much money for him, IMO.

Idonije-----This one hurts because of the time he's been here & the "from nothing to something" development that we have all witnessed. Simply put, he was given an honest chance to be the starting End opposite Peppers & he couldn't make the most of it. He had a good year during his first season in that spot, but opposing coaches were ready for him this season & he was unable to rise to the challenge.

So.......

+7.7M, +1.925M, +1.59M, +1M, -3.7M = $8.515 Million

$32 Million - $8.515 Million = $23.485 Million on hand

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

6. GM Emperor Jones:

1. Sticking Matt Forte with the $7.7 m franchise price tag (he can hold out through the 1st preseason game I don't care) = (- $7.7m)

2. Cutting Frank OMG! and Barber =- (+$3.7m)

3. Releasing/Not Signing : Israel Idonije, Tim Jennings, Brandon Meriweather, Zackary Bowman, Caleb Hanie and Roy William, Josh McCown (+/- $0m)

Resigning:

4. Kahlil Bell (-$1.925m)
5. Corey Graham, (-$1.59) - resigning to be a starting CB - He played well enough at Nickel to get the start
6.Amobi Okoye, (-$1.975)
7. Craig Steltz (-$1.00)
8. Kellen Davis (-$1.00)

Resigning Charge to cap= -$11.09 m

Cuts= (+) 3.7
Forte= (-)$7.7
Re-signings = (-)$11.09

Total Change to Salary cap Space: (-) $11.49m
Remaining Cap Space: $20.51m

Positions needed after round 1 moves:

Starters: WR, DE
[/u]Reserve: OT, RB, CB, QB

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

7. GM WEFFPIM

1. Franchise Forte (-$7.7)

2. Cut Omiyale and Barber (+3.7)

3. Re-sign:
Kahlil Bell (-$1.925m)
Corey Graham, (-$1.59)
Kellen Davis (-$1.00)

$32 million - $8.515 million = $23.485 million left in cap

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

8. GM gobullschi

1. Matt Forte gets Franchise Tag (-$7.7 m)

2. Cut Frank Omiyale & Marion Barber (+$3.7 m)

3. Release Israel Idonije, Tim Jennings, Brandon Merriweather, Zach Bowman, Caleb Hanie, Roy Williams, and Josh McCown (+/- 0.0 m)

4. Resign:
Kahlil Bell (-$1.925 m)
Corey Graham (-$1.59 m)
Kellen Davis (-$1.00 m)

Remaining Cap Space: ($23.485 m)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

9. GM Cliff Levingston

Franchise:
Forte (-$7.7)

Cut:
Barber (+$1.9)
Omiyale (+$1.8)

Re-sign:
Amobi Okoye (-$1.975)
Kellen Davis (-$1.00)

Let go:
Josh McCown, (-$3.6)
Israel Idonije (-$2.65)
Tim Jennings (-$2.65)
Kahlil Bell (-$1.925)
Corey Graham, (-$1.59)
Craig Steltz (-$1.00)
Brandon Meriweather (-$1.00)
Zackary Bowman (-$1.00)
Caleb Hanie (-$1.00)
Roy Williams (-$1.00)

Cap space: 32 - 7.7 + 1.9 + 1.8 - 1.975 - 1 = $25.025 mil.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

10. GM Magilla_Gorilla

RETAINED
Matt Forte: FRANCHISED
No Brainer

Kahlil Bell: RE-SIGNED (-$1.925m)
I like Kahlil and think he can be a good full time backup

Kellen Davis: RE-SIGNED (-$1.00)
I'm a big K Davis fan, and I think he could have a big year in Tices offense

Amobi Okoye: RE-SIGNED (-$1.975)
This boy good.

RELEASED
Marion Barber: RELEASED
I think Kahlil Bell is younger and better. Money is a wash.
Frank Omiyale: RELEASED
No brainer. Bad decision to begin with - lets cut our losses.
Josh McCown: RELEASED
God bless him, he came to a bad situation and did alright - but I would upgrade this position
Tim Jennings: RELEASED (-$2.65)
Israel Idonije: RELEASED (-$2.65)
Corey Graham: RELEASED (-$1.59))
Craig Steltz: RELEASED (-$1.00)
Brandon Meriweather: RELEASED (-$1.00)
Zackary Bowman: RELEASED (-$1.00)

EUTHANIZED
Caleb Hanie: CUT HIS ASS (-$1.00)
Roy Williams: CUT HIS ASS (-$1.00)

Salary cap:
32 - 7.7 - 1.925 - 1 - 1.975 + 1.9 + 1.8 = 23.1 million

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

11. GM IWannaGoHIGHER

1. Franchise Forte 7.7 million

In this day and age of football the RB position is a fleeting one. They are not as important and not as durable. I just see 9 million as too much money per year for one RB. Even though I love Forte.

2. Cut Barber and Omiyale + $3.7 million

I liked what Barber did, at times, but the Broncos game soured him for me forever. Can't say he's worth the money either. Omiyale waste of space was never worth any of the money we gave him. Honestly just not a very good player.

3. Resign

EDIT: Amobi Okoye -$1.975 million EDIT
Kellen Davis -$1.00 million

Total $6.975 million (correct me if I'm wrong) against the cap

$32 million - $6.975 million = $25.025 million left in cap room

I made the switch from Idonije to Okoye because I think youth in the defense is key at this point. Okoye is a talented guy who's still really young and been around for a year. And at almost 32 Idonije just was a bit too old for me to be comfortable with switch, thus the move. I don't love Davis but Lovie seems pretty eager to get him back and since we have no other real TE to speak of I think I'll give him a shot in a non Martz offense.

Not Signing

Tim Jennings, Brandon Meriweather, Zackary Bowman, Caleb Hanie, Roy William, Josh McCown, Craig Steltz, EDIT Israel Idonije, Kahlil Bell, Corey Graham, EDIT

One word jumps off the page when I see these guys. Replaceable. Jennings is a decent back-up but by no means a starter. Mariweather is just not very good. Bowman needs a change in scenery, Haine same thing. Williams I would like to have back if he could learn to look a football into his hands. McCown was a nice flash in the pan but I'd rather look for a non-Martz back-up at QB. Steltz nice back-up, decent player, just can be easily replaced for cheaper. EDIT Reason I dropped Bell and Graham was I found the players who do pretty much the same thing for cheaper, that's the main reason. EDIT

Positions still of need:

Starters: WR, OL, DE, CB, TE
Reserve: RB, LB, S, QB

Return to Chicago Bears
