The new jerseys are done in a classic Bears style. The most notable difference is that the player numbers are on the shoulders instead of the sleeves, allowing for a bigger George Halas logo on the sleeves. The jerseys are more fitted than in the past, but that is as far as the obvious visual changes go. Other changes to the uniforms include a lighter belt ring, and numbers that are sewn into the fabric as opposed to sewn on to the jerseys , allowing for a more lightweight uniform.

New Nike uniforms replace Reebock

Post#2 » by Friend_Of_Haley » Wed Apr 4, 2012 12:43 pm

Big upgrade for the bears. Ever since the cut of jerseys pretty much eliminated sleeves the striping was inconsistent depending on where the player's jersey cut. Moving the numbers up allows for the stripes and gsh to be a prominent part of the uniform.

Interesting that I've read some repots say they've added a stripe when im not sure it was ever eliminated or just kept being cut off.

3 stripes in the 90's, but one is basically part of the cuff

To current day where it seems they still use 3 stripes in an official capacity, but dont show up on the field (as the Urlacher pick above shows)

Reebok is still trying to stay in the game.

Reebok wants a ban lifted on its sale of apparel with the name of New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow.

Reebok International Ltd. Tuesday asked a judge to end it. The company says it can prove it was not selling merchandise in violation of its expired 10-year licensing deal with the NFL.

The ban came after Nike Inc. filed a lawsuit last week, days after Tebow was traded from Denver to New York. Nike says in court papers it will lose a one-time opportunity if the ban on Reebok sales is lifted. Nike now has NFL licensing rights.

Regarding the Bears new style, I like it.

It looks like Urlacher has a full arm sleeve tattoo in that new jersey pic.

Dude, I didn't even realize that was Urlacher. I thought that it was a black guy modeling the jersey  .

I'd like to see un-photoshopped versions of these jerseys and how they look.

uniforms are sick.

can't wait to see Forte in it. We finally got a jersey that will make us look professional & up to date with the rest of the league. Those puffy, loose sleeves went out in the 90's.

I really think this look will coincide with an upgrade & professional looking offense.

The Minny game at home last year is how I expect this offense to look consistently now. (in that game there was a steady diet of Forte, Cutler hit Hester over the top & RW (played the role of B. Marshall) well in that game. We will be very hard to stop.

Brian Urlacher isn't concerned about the fashion change provided by the NFL's new Nike jerseys, but he did notice that they fit tighter than the Reebok ones.

Urlacher believes the sleeker style will mean good things for teammate Julius Peppers.

"Julius is going to get 50 sacks next year," he said with a smile.

The belief is that the sleeker fit will prevent offensive lineman from holding and grabbing at Peppers as he rushes the quarterback.

In his second season with the Bears after eight with the Panthers, Peppers racked up 11 sacks, tied for 11th-best in the NFL and his most since 2008

Nike is always an upgrade over Reebok. All these products look great, not just the jerseys. I like Seattle's new design.

I heard that too but I don't have a link. I think I saw somewhere that they will have orange pants for the alternate jersey.

Yea that must be where I saw that. Bleacher Report isn't necessarily a good source IMO though. The orange pants seem weird but I think I could get used to them if this rumor is true.

Ugh, I would not be happy with orange pants. The 1940s style should be the alternate.

Devin Hester is gonna look good with the gloves on.

Sports Authority in River North was selling them for 9.97 last week, but only had 3 combination of styles and size. Not sure if they have any left, but i got one of each style. The Sports Authority by me had none displayed.

Were those authentics or just replicas?

I gots to get me a Cutler authentic. I already lucked into some Urlacher authentics for 50 bucks (down from 300 mind you)...So I brought 3 of them.

Would love to get a Cutler, Peppers, and a Briggs. Forte too.

Just the replicas. I didn't see authentics. Still the replicas are normally 80, so it was a pretty good deal.
