This pretty much takes CB off the draft board right?

Wow. I didn't see this coming.

Can I ask.....What was the purpose of re-signing Tim Jennings?

EDIT: The article says for depth. DJ Moore, Hayden, & Wilhite.

DJ Moore will probably still be the nickel IMO. I also don't think this will take CB off the Bears board. They have one pro bowl CB in Tillman who is aging, another starter who they re-signed to a short two-year deal, an up-and coming nickel in Moore, and now they signed two stop-gaps in Hayden and Wilhite. Wilhite will be purely used for special teams unless an injury occurs IMO.

So they still need a young CB to groom to replace Hayden next year and possibly take over for Jennings in two years. This is just another move that allows they Bears to draft the best player available and not draft for need, which causes teams to reach a lot. Emery knows what he's doing.

Agreed.

Smart moves thus far.

Moore played well but young guys are up and down. Stardom = distractions = more money = more problems

Meh. If anything, it points toward the Bears looking DE in the draft early, perhaps O line even. Why sign a couple cornerbacks if you know you want to go CB early?

Cliff Levingston would be surprised if we don't pick up a CB somewhere in the draft but this is probably more indicative of how we plan on taking someone a little later rather than earlier.

We need another safety too, pretty badly.

Tampa 2 doesn't require elite CBs. We can get zone coverage CBs in later rounds. DE, O-linemen, WR, or DT are our needs.

YAY I graduated from Hubbard High School with Hayden. Class of 2001. It's great to see him be a Bear. Hopefully he says healthy.
