The offense was okay, we just didn't convert on great field position and our many opportunities to score. Hopefully we look better next week.

They moved the ball against the Lions and just had a few costly penalties. Cutler was clearly hobbled in the second half and they were able to run the ball whenever they wanted.

Can't really complain about the D. Wish we got the shutout, being the stat junkie, but meh.

Offense was meh. Stalled a lot in the 2nd half. Running game still looked pretty good, though.

Solid win vs Divisional opponent. B-

Not worried about the offense, we would have scored more points in Alshon Jeffery wasn't hurt.

I dont think the offensive players were bad, but the playcalling was horrible on that goal line posession. If that was a touchdown and we got the blocked field goal in i would say we would be on track.

Penalties need to be cleaned up.

Whats scary is the if the lions scored on one of the redzone posessions instead of turning the ball over we would have lost.

Bottom line 13 points is a little worrying coming out of the bye and against one of the worst secondaries in the league.

I need the bears to have a game where they just step on a teams throat, against a division opponet or a good team.

Yeah the Bears offense didn't play their best game today and the special teams was pretty bad too, bad starting field position for most of the game due to bad returns or stupid penalties. But they got the win and they're 5-1 and with Carolina and Tennessee coming up, we should be 7-1 going into the Houston SNF game.

The offense had good drives most of the game. They were able to get into scoring position 3 times in the first half, which is a great change for what has happened this season. They need to put the ball into the endzone more often though. This is the fist year together for the offense and it's clearly a process for them putting it all together. But I think they will do that in one of these upcoming games. Hopefully it's against the Texas or 9ers where we will more than likely need it and where it'll be a good statement against a great team.

As far as this game...Really glad we were able to do what we needed to do. Honestly, outside of the terrible amount of penalties we had, and the fact that our offense couldn't see the endzone after that 1st touchdown, the game was very good.

^this. The bears got the ball to the 3 yard line, and then threw quick slants to marhsall twice and bennett once. Bush and Forte did not touch the ball. We really need to get the ball into the endzone if the Bears want to beat the top teams. 13 points won't beat everyone.

Should I celebrate?

the Bears are a bottom 3rd offense with a bottom 3rd QB right now. Yes, this team can get in the playoffs and get a 1st round bye. To get beyond that, you have to be able to score points at a relatively high level and make plays consistently from the QB position. Or at least be able to defeat elite playoffs defenses in the clutch.

I think obviously the undertalented O-line is ultimately the most responsible for hindering the playcalling, performance, and having an effect on Cutler's comfort level. So verry ouch baby. Should we expect the O-line to become more talented as the year goes on? Its clear at least we way overestimated the talent and capability of this team on offense.

I can't absolve Cutler completely though. He'll need to up his currently sub-par game significantly and play over the bad stuff in front of him since the O-line most likely won't get much better if any. And the receivers? I don't see much hope beyond the rookie. This appears to be a 2 man crew. Maybe Bennet is a solid #3 in the end with limited upside.

So you know while I'm having limited fun watching the defense, I wish I could feel confident about getting to the Superbowl. I'll need to get talked off the ledge as a ringchaser or bust kind of guy. I don't see an empiracal reason that this offense will get much better with this O-Line without Cutler getting freaking heroic, and the possible addition of a busted handed rookie at some point can't be it.
I'm left with hoping the Bears will open up some new plays, routes and capabilities when they feel in danger of losing games. Hoping this is all Lovie Smith conservatism. Thats a stretch, but a fan can hope.

I didnt like the play calling once again but I think Cutler's injury attributed to that. The offense was playing well until then so I'll give them a break this week.

I love Hester, but the Bears have a huge decision to make next season.

Am I the only one that thinks that center is the worst spot in our oline? Granted left tackle has his struggles but I think webb has been better than Garza thus far. Am I wrong?

Simply from an eye test, you're probably correct, Pong.

Very good win and the defense continues to impress. The offense in the 2nd half left a lot to be desired and we could have easily lost this game had the Lions not turned the ball over in the red zone 3 times. Carimi is leaving a lot to be desired at the RT spot thus far. To date, I would say Webb is a better player than he is. Hope he starts improving.
