Phil Emery Press Conference re: Lovie's firing/New Coach

Post#1 » by blumeany » Tue Jan 1, 2013 4:08 pm

I'm honestly shocked. I'd recommend anyone who didn't hear it to pick it up on podcast. I don't think I've ever heard a Bears official talk such common sense and be so honest about why he fired a guy or made a move. He actually stated all the reasons that any fan or expert could see for why they fired him. I don't think we ever got that out of Angelo. :D

Emery is quickly becoming my favorite GM in sports. I like him a lot.

He basically went for close to an hour. Was very thorough, detailed, and didn't do much deflection or talking around the subject that Angelo was an expert in. If they podcast it, it's worth your time.

Mike Holmgren would be interested in coaching again.

Mccoy sounds decent. He adjusted to make Tebow successful, I like that and that's what we need offensively.

His relationship with Manning is a plus.
Right now I think real Nfl, experience is a plus in this coach search.

Tebow wasn't that successful, and it's really not hard to gameplan for Manning. Just give him the ball and watch him work. I'm really not impressed by McCoy.

Tebow saved the Broncs season that year. True about Manning, but that experience with Manning gives him some good stuff to pass to cutler.

But tuche'< sp

That raises the question of why wasn't Orton having success that year.
The defense played better with Tebow, but basically the qb change happened cuz their season was in the dumps and the fans were clamoring.
