Game Rules Questions Thread

Post#1 » by BIGGIEsmalls 23 » Wed Jan 23, 2013 9:34 pm

Just in case you guys didn't see it, yesterday Emp posted the Game rules at the top of the page in Announcements. Here is the link below:

viewtopic.php?f=156&t=1227816

I'm making this thread for anyone that has questions concerning the game. This way, it will keep the Rules thread from being cluttered. I will begin.

What's up with the Urlacher rule  ?....It sucks  .

Also, for those interested, the sign-up thread is located at the top of the page also. The link is below:

When we do the NFL Draft portion, why couldn't someone just end up doing something like this:
First round - Luke Joeckel
Second round - Star Lotulelei
Fourth round - Jarvis Jones
etc.

Is there only a select number of players you could select with a pick?

I'm not certain if Emp will have us follow the same format or not.

Have to throw a wrinkle or two in there. You're not resigning Urlacher for $2 mill.

Thanks for this thread. Good idea to keep the rule thread clean.

As for the draft, I don't anticipate changing that. I thought the trading went well and was the difference maker in the game for many GMs

That list was a cap hit list, not a roster list. I don't have cap hit numbers for the players you mention and actually are unsure about the status of James Brown the undrafted free agent soulful performer/song writer OG.

I'll try to get updated numbers before the start of round one.

We'll start round 1 after the Super Bowl. The deadline to submit will be just before the start of round 2 which will coincide with NFL free agency franchise/transitional tag day deadline.

Just to be clear, we can cut everyone listed and half of their salary is what we can use as cap space, correct?

You can use half of the cap hit number listed. The number listed is not the players actual salary.

If Heter is cut in real life does his full contract come of the books or do still save the same amount?

The number I gave for Hester is the real life number if he's cut on your team or by the bears:

Devin Hester - cutting him saves $2.1 million on your 2013 cap.

Hester actually doesn't get paid that much and hasn't because his contract was incentive based (THANK YOU JA!) That's actually why I laughed when he talked about retirement. He hasn't made enough money to retire.

Unless I'm missing it in the rules, are we able to use the franchise tag on a player?

How much will fullbacks be getting paid in the game? I really don't think they should be on the running back scale. And in light of the recent quote from Kromer, some people might want to get a fullback.

"If you have both then you really have what you are looking for; if you have a fullback and an F tight end that can move around and a fullback at times and be a tight end, not a point of attack tight end.”

These are currently the highest paid fullbacks in the league.
