SB II: Julius Peppers brings Bears "Fools Gold"

Another wrinkle in the Superbowl game....
On the eve of free agency, Julius Peppers offers to restructure his contract to give you cap flexibility after the Henry Melton surprise.
Under the "Peppers Plan" you can take $11 million of Peppers’ 2013 base and turn it into a bonus, thus reducing his 2013 cap by $7,333,333 to roughly $9 million.
This move would create $7.3 million in cap room for this year.
However, in this scenario, that adds a proration figure of $3,666,666 to each year of the contract. In doing so, Peppers would have a total remaining proration in 2014 and 2015 of $13,700,001 -- $6.85 million per season.
So his remaining cap numbers would look like this:
2014 cap figure $21,049,999.
2015 cap figure $23,350,001.
While you could release Peppers after this season, you would have to account for $13.7 million in dead money – the remaining proration.
Prior to submitting your round 2 Free agency selection, make a decision to accept Peppers gift or not.
****On a separate note, keep in mind that players that resign with their original teams before the start of NFL Free Agency will NOT be free agents in our game
