Bears nearing a deal with Bushrod

Not a fan if it ends up being as much as I think it'll be. I just don't think he's much better than Webb and he'll likely be much more expensive as well.

Apparently it's a 5 year deal... I'm a little worried.

At the same time, let's get Moore and all of a sudden our line may just be average.

"@seankjensen: #Bears agree to terms on a 5-year deal with Jermon Bushrod, according to league sources. More to come… http://t.co/LVfH4UJ65h"

According to Jensen its 5 years

He is better than Webb.

He is not elite, but average is much better than Webb.

Bushrod is a 2 time pro bowl left tackle. He's a huge upgrade over Webb at LT. This moves Webb to RT and Carimi either to guard or as the backup swing tackle. Tis a shame we missed on that pick.

Cooper/Warmack in round 1 and we suddenly have a formidable OL IMO.

Why do we care about terms? The Bears did as good as possible. And Webb can go back to RT where he is better suited. Bears ar kicking ass again Emery owns offseason!

A pylon is often better than Webb.

Seriously.

Pair this off season with a decent draft and we are on our way.

Fist pump

I'm shocked with the activity for the Bears. Im much more happy with Bushrod rather than the injury prone Long.

Brad Biggs ‏@BradBiggs

#Bears give Jermon Bushrod $35.965 million over five years with $17.715 guaranteed.

Beat me to it. I don't think it's a bad contract.

 We now have a pro-bowl LT to protect Cutler's blind spot.

I'm not sure we go OL first round now... We've spent our money on a TE and OL, with a spot a WR still left to fill.

Agreed, people are blowing up about the 36 million, but there is no way he sees anything close to that while he is with the Bears.

Football contracts are completely different than NBA and MLB

To be fair, I do not think he is a pro bowler, I think a lot of that is because he is playing with Breezus.

He is an upgrade however.
