Emery has shown a willingness to move aggressively to fill holes, and with Lance Louis leaving, interior line is a huge hole.

Warmack and Cooper are two of the better interior line prospects to come out in a while, and elite interior linemen tend to be able to have an immediate impact (e.g. Pouncy). Plugging one of them in could have a major impact on the Bear OL in 2013.

One of the two will likely drop to the late teens, so there might be a chance for the Bears to move up and grab one without giving up to much. #20 and a future third or forth rounder should be enough.

I don't think the Bears will move up nor do I think they should. We only have 5 picks in this draft, so a trade down is much more likely and much better for the future of the team.

Also take into account that interior lineman tend to be picked later in the first round than normally expected. Pouncey (Steelers) went in the late 20s. Last year Decastro went in the 20s. They were both considered top 10 prospects, but teams wait til later in the draft to address interior OLine because they don't think it is a premier position.

Then consider that Joekel, Fisher and Lane will all be going top 20. It's really unusual for 5 OLinemen to go top 20, no matter how talented they are. I think one of Cooper or Warmack will be on the board at 20. If not then oh well. The strongest, deepest position in this draft is guard, so we can get one later.

Agreed, if anything we will trade back to acquire more picks. In fact I believe that to be the most likely scenario. Plus Golabki, since you posted, we signed Matt Slauson at guard. If we end up with either Warmack or Cooper I would be stoked though. Personally, I hope Tavon Austin somehow slips into our clutches but I think every fan base is thinking that right now too.

Fred Williamson, Richard Roundtree, and Jim Brown are ineligible. Old too. Pam Grier? You should always try to aquire Pam Grier, but I'd bring her aboard as a free agent and sit her in some 50 yard line 1st row seats. Our Jack Nicholson.

If anything, we should trade down and pick up extra picks to fill holes. If we're targeting a new MLB, a trade-down makes all the sense in the world. Get to the bottom of the 1st, grab Arthur Brown and use the extra 3rd you get to grab a speedster receiver or project lineman.

Um id vote against using two draft picks on one interior lineman. A trade down would be more efficient in that scenario.

First of all, we've heard the same things last year about DeCastro going top 15, even top 10. He went TWENTY-FOURTH. I hear this same nonsense with a highly-touted guard EVERY year. And every year, they always go lower than projected because they do not have the same value as other players.

Besides, we have only 5 picks. If anything, we need to move down and get more picks. At this point, we are much better off playing the field and going bpa (assuming we can't trade down).

As far as O-line, with the additions of Slauson and Bushrod, aside from maybe a center in the mid rounds, I'm totally okay with not worrying about it til maybe later for a project. Slauson is a solid guard and I'm confident that one of Carimi or Webb can do the same at the other guard while we continue to develop James Brown.

No, trade down if anything but definately not to move up. We have too few picks to start with.

I'd trade down - because a mid-round tackle prospect like Kevin Faulk could probably be a very serviceable guard. I'd rather trade down for some extra picks, or even try to move some players like Michael Bush or Edgar Bennett.

Seriously, the Jets need wideouts - think Bennett could land a third-round pick, and maybe a 7th rounder as well. The Steelers are looking for a running back - why not trade them Bush for a 3rd-round pick?

I want Warmack so if we need to move up a couple if picks I would be ok with that. I don't get the philosophy of having tons of picks. We never keep these scrubs anyway. We need high end talent not rebuild level talent. We were 10-6 last year. Shore up the online even more and lets roll.
