Last Time they played:

December 9, 2012
Mall of America Field, Minneapolis, MN-- Everyone in the stadium knows Adrian Peterson is going to get the ball when the Minnesota Vikings are on offense. No one seems to know how to stop him once he does.

His sights set squarely on 2,000 yards, Peterson's latest jaw-dropping performance also made sure the Vikings can keep their eyes on the playoffs.

Peterson rushed for 154 yards and two touchdowns and Harrison Smith returned an interception for a score to lead the Vikings to a 21-14 victory over the free-falling Chicago Bears on Sunday.
Peterson topped 100 yards before the first quarter was over, helping the Vikings (7-6) overcome another lackluster day from quarterback Christian Ponder to get a victory that will keep their playoff hopes alive.
"The guy's unbelievable," Ponder said of his star running back. "I don't know if he's human or not."
Jay Cutler was 22 for 44 for 260 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions and couldn't finish the game for the Bears (8-5), who have lost four of five. He took a wicked hit to the head from Everson Griffen in the fourth quarter, remained in for the rest of that drive, but was replaced by Jason Campbell with 3 minutes to play.

I anticipate a much better game from Cutler, so I think we will win. But everybody will have to tackle well, especially Briggs and Williams. They played like crap last week.

IDK if Williams was crap...he was just average. Didn't really hurt the team or did anything significant. I imagine that could be the rust wearing off. Hopefully. Briggs was good and bad on different plays.

James Anderson was the only LB that played well over-all.

This could be a disaster. If the front 7 isnt filling their gaps we are screwed.
Do any u remember what our defense vs AP looked like without Urlacher. Not good.

Notes;
Offensively AP and Gregg jennings are their main weapons and then to a lesser extent Rudolph. (te)

Offensively the bears can take advantage of their secondary.

I say put 8 in the box and make them throw the ball. AP didn't do much last week after his first run and our run defense was solid week 1. AP is the best player in the NFL but the Bears are a better team than the Vikings.

On top of Hennings and Rudolph they have Simpson, who caught 7 or 8 passes for 140 yards last week. And Patterson can have a big game any week because of his Julio Jones type athleticism.

They also have Christian Ponder, who had 3 interceptions last week and has never been a good quarterback.

Last week was one of the worst tackling games I've seen in a while and the bears always have trouble against AD. I have a feeling this will be a shootout between AD and Cutler.

Herm Edwards is suppose to do the commentary for this game on ESPN radio. Does anyone know if his commentary will be on t.v. also?

Bill Simmons:

BEARS (-6.5) over Vikings
PACKERS (-7.5) over Joe Theismann's Old Team
Ahhhhhhhhhhh … the beauty of an old-school, two-team teaser. Find two good home teams, lower their lines by six points apiece … and if both cover your revised lines, you win. In this case, you only need the Bears to win by one and the Packers to win by two and you win the tease. It's a thing of beauty. My gift to you. Just take it. I insist.

(And if that's not enough … Christian Ponder outdoors-on-the-road alert! Christian Ponder outdoors-on-the-road alert! Christian Ponder outdoors-on-the-road alert! Christian Ponder outdoors-on-the-road alert! Christian Ponder outdoors-on-the-road alert!)

Yeah I saw those Vikings dip****s heading down the Kennedy towards downtown. Full police escort lights and sirens horn etc. Cutting through hellacious traffic jam for them while everybody had to step aside for their buses. Very annoying. I see the police lights and sounds in my rearview, pushing everybody aside and I'm thinking wow what's all this? Something bad had to have happened ahead. Must be why traffic is at a stand still. But no. Its them. Adding to the traffic problem.

Cutler will possibly be up and down for awhile while this offense gets the bugs out. If he is better than last week he will be very good. I think the Bears are going to pound Forte and Bush this week. They want to get that going imo after a tough day at the office last week. And it is going to be an essential part of Trestmans operation if things play out right and true to Trestman's record. His (west coast) passing offense features a positive running attack from all Ive read about it.. I can't help but to think about Roger Craig.

Let's remind the Vikings why they have only won twice in Chicago since 2000. Ponder has a noodle arm and AP is the only threat that can actually do any damage against the Bears.

Bears 27
Vikings 14.

Make it so, Da Bears.

If we're doing predictions I'll say Bears win 34-17.

100 percent chance of rain in Chicago. AD has a chronic history of fumbling and we have a chronic history off making you fumble. 100 percent chance of rain on that field means there won't be that many points. 20-13 Bears.

The Vikings were 0-6 in outdoor games last year. Combine that with the fact that I'm going to this game, and the home field advantage will just be too much for the Vikings to handle. 4th Phase!
