Re: A quick note to Brian Urlacher
Didn't he also blame Russell Wilson for "ending" his career?
You know I have defended Urlacher before, but man dude is no Ray Lewis that's for sure. And he does need to pipe down. He's just coming off as one of those guys in the media that just makes noise so he can get viewers or hits on their articles.

I really hate the way he's going out. I idolized him growing up. I didn't hear the context of which he said Jay didn't call him but it just sounds like he wants attention.

Re: A quick note to Brian Urlacher
Of course it all for attention. Urlacher is turning into the type of media guy he hated during his playing career. The irony...

i saw brians interview. he is just being a real dude. Everyone knows the Bears were jerking him. The questions were really straightforward and he spoke on the subjects they asked about. He was angry at the media for a couple of years.
He says bear players still call him to ask him questions. He sees his new career as being a part of football which he is grateful for.

Re: A quick note to Brian Urlacher
Urlacher has been around the game for a long, long time. So I call B.S. on any 'oh, he was just being honest' crap. Do you remember what this guy used to do to the media as a player? He completely stonewalled them. He'd give one word answers. He'd ignore questions. He'd ALWAYS give the company line and NEVER, EVER crap on a teammate - no matter how much they may have annoyed him. He is COMPLETELY aware of what he is saying and how that will be perceived. Everything he has said in the past few weeks is a bunch of whining from a bitter old man. His ego cannot except the fact that the Bears would call his bluff. With Lovie around, guys like him had the organization by the balls. Well, Emery and Trestman are in charge now. They looked at the tape and they knew what they saw was a broken down player who would most likely only serve as an extra coach. They gave him what ended up being the only offer he ever saw. He declined, thinking he was worthy enough to drag the organization over the coals. He lost. Now he's bitter and - NOW - as a retired player - he's willing to spill the beans on anything and everything, without any regard to the guys currently playing. Remember when Urlacher the player would get so enraged when former players made comments about his team? Yeah. Welcome to the club, Brian.

Its a big difference between getting paid to PLAY FOOTBALL and getting paid TO GIVE YOUR OPINION .

How were they "jerking him?" They were the only team to offer him any contract, and I think it was market value for his deteriorated skills. Joe Montana was shown the door. Urlacher's no special snowflake, when your time of being paid like a superstar is over it's over, and it was over for him. I have no problem with him choosing to walk away rather than take it, but he has no cause to be bitter. The team was exceptionally fair with him on contractual issues throughout his career, reworking his deal to add money when there was no need to do so.

They were jerking him by even offering him a contract. They didnt want him but still put on a charade that everybody was wise on.
