Trade deadline targets

Post#1 » by patryk7754 » Sun Oct 27, 2013 4:35 pm

Jay Glazier of fox said Jared Allen will most likely be dealt for something around a 3rd round compensatory pick. We could definitely use him.

Jaris Byrd has basically said he doesn't want to play in Buffalo and the Bills have said they're willing to trade hi. Alos, he's a FA so his price might not be that high. He's young amd a top safety would still be a 1st round pick in this draft. Ghe Bears sould look into it.

Josh Gordon has already been talked about. Its unlikely we trade for him but we coukd use his talent

Josh Gordon is off the trade block according to the intel from my fantasy league.

Cap room is obviously a problem but teams always somehow find a way to bypass the restrictions.

Some players I think we should inquire about that aren't necessarily available

-Paul Posluszny: The Jags might be willing to trade him since they're always so terrible and it would be a waste of money to keep him since his personal productivity doesn't lead to team productivity. He has 68 tackles with 1int and 2 sacks this season already. In the 5 previous seasons he's had over 100 tackles in each season and a combined 9ints and 7 sacks. This gives us someone who can lead the defense while Briggs is out. Helps one of our big weaknesses on defense which is pass coverage. Bostic can go back to the bench since he's not ready to play when it comes to pass coverage and in the future Bostic can be moved to OLB where I think he'll be better only.

-Ryan Clark: The Steelers might be willing to trade him but I doubt. If they draft a guy like Clowney and get on offensive weapon or two Clark might be a key to another contending Steelers team. He is a good player on a bad team who has nice value so they might consider it.

- Lawrence Timmons: Same as Clark but highly doubtful. We'd obviously play at DE but in the end this is mostly a pipe dream that has a small chance to come true.

-Aldon Smith: He's had a lot of turmoil with the 49ers and I think I heard an analysis say that the 49ers may consider cutting him, so if we do try to trade for him it wouldn't be for much.

-Kevin Williams: He'd be a rental since he's old but he can still get the job done. I'd say he will still be good until the end of next season, maybe the next 2 seasons. Him and Melton would be a great combo (and peppers if we keep him and he gets his act together.)

Keep our draft picks... we're not winning a super bowl this year and we have to rebuild our defense next year. If anything, we should be a seller. If we could move Peppers (we can't move Peppers) we'd have a boatload of capspace, even if the compensation is small.

Matt schuab? As long as its a fifth or lower I'd be okay with it but I doubt he's traded for something that low
