Bears trade their 1st for Cleveland's 1st and Cleveland's 2 third round picks.

works on the trade value chart.

Seeing how deep this draft is I would expect a trade down. I read an article (fanside i think) that the bears might add a third. If we do the Cleveland deal I doubt we could get both 3rds.

If we trade that far down in the first round we certainly would need both 3rd round picks from a value standpoint . 14th to 26th is a very big drop. From the trade chart that would work. In reality, who knows.

Yea. I was thinking they had the 21st for some reason.

We might trade up if we really want an obvious elite talent like Mack, dennard, or Donald

Trading up in the second round to secure a falling prospect.

My ideal scenario would go something like this:
1. In the first three picks only one qb gets drafted and Jadeaveon Clowney falls to 4. Maybe we see a top 3 of Bortles, Watkins and Robinson?
2. Manziel looks like he is falling to 14.
3. Cleveland offers us the Indy pick at 26, their high second rounder (35 overall) and their third rounder (68 overall) for the 14th overall and our second rounder.

For the Bears: I think we're going to get a still very solid defensive player at 26... I don't see too much drop off from 14 to 26 in this draft, especially for a team that has a need at every defensive position. We also are trading up 15 spots in the second round and getting a second third rounder. With four solid picks in the first three rounds, we can really inject some talent into our defense. This would be a big win for us.

For the Browns: They are coming out of the draft with arguably the best defensive player in Clowney and the qb they covet... all they had to do was give up a third rounder and trade down 15 spots in the second. To bring home Clowney and Manziel, I have a hunch their GM will be the toast of Cleveland for that move.

This is a dream scenario.

Cleveland needs a running back. Bush is surplus to the needs of the Bears, but he has been a proven commodity, and over the last two years, there's not been a lot of mileage.

Hageman and Tuitt improve the D-line, while Roberson and Jean-Baptiste provide depth at cornerback - and allow Da Bears to not only re-sign Peanut, but move him to safety. Reynolds provides depth at safety. Stork can be groomed to replace Garza. Smith is the developmental QB. Wilder Jr. can compete to back up Forte or to start at FB. Hoffman's a big WR and young. Could be a huge help in the red zone.

Not to rehash the one I threw out there before, but if we added our second rounder (50) and they added their third rounder (68), the trade would be even steven. 14 + 50 = 26 + 35 + 68.

We would get an extra pick (68) plus move up 15 spots in the second round (from 50 to 35) in exchange for Cleveland moving up 12 spots in the first (26 to 14).

This works by the chart (1500 to 1500), but logistically depends on two things:

1. Cleveland being certain a QB they like will be available at 14, but not at 26. This would allow them to get a top-tier prospect at 4 without burning that pick on a qb.

2. Chicago liking defensive players available at 26 about as much as the defensive players available at 14.


For Cleveland, I could see either a scenario where Clowney falls to 4 and they cannot pass it up, or them wanting to get a guy like Manziel or Carr at 14 but give him a duo of receivers like Sammy Watkins and Josh Gordon to throw to (emulating our Alshon-Brandon tandem which worked out pretty damn well for Cutler and McCown).

For us, we have so many holes to fill and there are so many solid defensive prospects lumped into the same mid-first round tier, trading down to that spot seems like a perfect scenario.

The 26 and 35 picks (1250) balance out with 14 and 82 (1280).

Cleveland gets Michael Bush in exchange for the 71 and 83 picks (the other 410 points).

Part of me is tempted to throw in Edgar Bennett to keep the 82 overall, to be honest.

What kind of trees are in this city? Absolutely terrible for the Panthers

Best deal is a trade up about 5-7 spots in the second to grab someone who's falling and we like. I think we can get two main contributors to our D, including a real impact guy at 14, but maybe not if we stay at 50.

This is the exact same thing I was thinking.

Then at 26 you can pick either Tuitt or Hageman who both have scheme versatility. At 35 take Bradley Roby. In the third round take top safety (Dixon, Buchannon, or Brooks) with 68, and either another DT or a RB with our third round pick.
