Wilson was voted to five Pro Bowls during 12 seasons with the Arizona Cardinals from 2001-12, recording 885 tackles, 27 interceptions, 25.5 sacks, 99 pass breakups, 15 forced fumbles and eight fumble recoveries.

Mastrud has appeared in 52 games with 18 starts over four seasons with the Dolphins (2010-12) and Raiders (2013), catching seven passes for 96 yards. Last season the 6-6, 255-pounder played in all 16 games with 12 starts for Oakland, catching six passes for 88 yards.

its a long shot. If Wilson has anything left, enough to make the safeties an average unit, it could put this defense in the top half, assuming the linebackers aren't like a liability. Its a nice hail Mary.

I think our defensive will all come down to the D-line. It was clearly priority number one for the FO, now we'll have to wait and see if their moves paid off.

Early reports also have indicated that Bostic has improved and is playing smarter. He's in the lead to get the 3rd starting LB position.

Hopefully he could provide some quality downs and be good locker room presence.
James thinks he and Chris Bosh or he and Dwyane Wade would improve any team's fortunes greatly.

"If you put me and Bosh on the same team, if you put me and Wade on the same team, a lot of teams would be much better."
